Late picture posting of the CARDS flyin:
June 7 - 9, CARDS warbird flyin at Lansing, Michigan.
Miles: 270.
This is part of the warbirds alliance organization with 7 flyins, this year.
Very lucky to live in this part of the country where there are so many great warbird flyins.
All due to the great amount of work put on by Dennis and Linda Crooks and the 7 clubs hosting these events.
Attendance is from 75 to 150 pilots bringing giant scale warbirds and classics (civilian planes 50 years or older).

New generator.
My old 10 year old one still runs but the generator part doesn't recognize the low voltage of light bulbs and only glows dimly, although it will 'bump up' amperage when the ceramic heater is connected. This is also a problem with my chargers as they say input voltage is too low.
I wanted another inexpensive one and ordered one from walbox.
With the picture of both, tell me most of China's stuff isn't made in one place and they just put a different label on the outside!
The new one has a few enhancements:
1. 100 extra watts at 900: will be good as the old one's CB would 'kick out' sometimes at 800 watts when using the ceramic heater.
2. Voltmeter
3. DC outlet with special jack and alligator clips.
They weren't in the store but online order with free delivery.

July 7, Big bird flyin at Celina, Ohio.
Miles: 102.
A nice all grass field about 700' long.
Not a lot of warbirds present but Joe and I had a great time doing formation flying:
Did low, slow pass, worm burners, 360's, rolls, 4 pointers, loops, horizontal figure 8's, cuban 8's and took off and landed together.
Formation flying is really a lot of fun: the take off's and landings were the coolest.
Next time, need to put in some bomb bursts.
Wind was pretty strong but right down the runway (maybe why not many were flying).

July 12-14, Air supremacy over Goshen, Indiana hosted by Chuck and RJ.
Miles: 212
The 3rd warbirds and classics event of a total of 7.
Held on the Goshen airport.
Unlike a lot of airport flyins where there are 'things' sticking out of the ground, this is an alternate all grass runway away from the main black top runway.
The field was 1000' but we really had about 2000'.
Around 100 pilots were there. Sunny and light breeze directly down the runway all 3 days.
The local papers and TV's covered the event:
Look here to see my 3 minutes of fame on TV:
The local camera guy put a 'mike' on me and 'taped' me while unloading the trailer, assembling the planes and flying.
He compressed the 2 hours of taping down to 3 minutes.
