Okay, just have to ask. What is that twin boom, P-38 styled plane with the "8 ball" on the tails and the over-length center pod?

I like it, YOU'RE BOTH RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm very familiar with the P-61 night fighter and all the developmental issues it had. I've just never seen a P-61 in that configuration so, needless to say, just had to ask

FYI,
I got this email from Les:
Sam,
Somebody has stuck at link at the end of your text in post 38. It is one of those that locks up your browser and tells you to call Microsoft. Naturally your not calling Microsoft and they are just trying to get money. The link is hidden in the word Video. Video is in bold orange text.
Great photos and I liked your TV debut.
Les
FYI,
That video isn't mine but part of the TV station in Goshen, Indiana so I don't have any control over it.
Also, I can't make any changes to that post as, I don't know why this site does this, but after a certain amount of time, one is unable to edit your own post. My other sites allow updating, indefinitely. I wish they would have left this site alone without making 'improvements'. It's obvious their updates have also created problems under threads as pictures show up 'normal' before their updates on my threads and are hosed after their updates.
Also, I don't even look at their 'for sale' section: every time I enter it, I have to delineate which type of planes I want to look at.

I got hit by the same ransomware from someplace else, not in your thread. Fortunately, it got my laptop so I was able to just take it to a repair shop and get it removed. From what I was told, this ransomware installs itself in your internet registers and basically locks up your internet access. Just like the previous "FBI VIRUS", it is removable. Fortunately, it's not one that encrypts your hard drive where you have to pay the ransom to get your files back within a specific amount of time or your hard drive becomes a useless brick

Aug 4/5, GCRCC Circus at Butler county airport, Ohio.
Yearly show put on for the general public.
The county airport closes the airport down from 11:30 to 4:00 and an event happens every 10 minutes.
Around 60% of the members participate and bring about 200 of their own planes.
At noon, a $6,500 check was presented to spina bifida that GCRCC helps support.
Guessing a 'good' 3,000 visitors showed up on Saturday.

Aug 11-12, Flyin at Bob Evans farm held by Rio Grande club.
All grass field.
My TF Corsair and Phoenix spit was why I bought these planes: for small fields. This one about 25'X250'.
Had a good time flying my planes.
Corsair engine went dead on the 'backside' but able to get her back to the runway.
Bad ignition switch.

Aug 16-18, Warbirds and classics over the midwest at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Miles: 550.
The 5th flyin of warbirds campaign group.
A 1300'X200' all grass runway.
With the distance, I arrived Tuesday afternoon and, also, Wednesday is like a 'flying day' as many pilots are flying on the day before the event starts.
Group rental of tents are becoming very popular: Too much for one person to pay(usually) but 4-12 people per tent gets a fee of only about 75 bucks each and, with the convenience, it's worth it.
Had an unusual occurrence on the first arrival day. After landing a TF P-47 and taxiing back to the flight line, the engine went to full power, took off in about 10' (which I found amazing), engine stopped at about 15' high and I think I, instinctively, flew the plane to the ground. Took the hatch off and smoke came out. Initially, I thought a bad battery but those all checked out OK. Turns out the throttle servo went bad. I use a choke servo with a 2 second delay so, by chance, the choke servo stopped the motor after it flew for 2 seconds. Surprisingly, only one oleo snapped off one gear with no other major damage; even the prop didn't break. Fortunately, no one there that early when I flew the plane and no damage to anything or anyone.
