Default Ziroli Bearcat.

Anyone out there have a Saito 90r3 gas engine in their Bearcat? I have the Saito and was thinking about a Ziroli Bearcat build for it this coming winter.

There is a video of a ziroli bearcat with a saito 450 (75cc) on youtube. It seemed to fly it well so a FG-90 should haul it around pretty good.

Thanks for the reply, I did see the video. Right now my FG-90 is in a Top Flite P-47. I'm still 50-50 if I leave it in the P-47 and put the biggest twin 2-stroke for the Bearcat. I purchased a nice aftermarket exhaust for the Saito, but cant get it on the P-47. That is another reason to put the Saito in the Bearcat. Decision, decisions.

I have a FG-84 in a topflite jug. I was going to pull it off to put on a bates corsair whenever I get around to building it. the only thing I didn't like was having to modify the cowl to make it fit on the jug. I would put the radial in the bearcat if I were you.

Nice P-47. With the Saito on the T-Bolt, I had to open the cowl for the value covers. It looks good though.

I'm going to pull the Saito out of the P-47 for the Bearcat. That way I can use my Keleo muffler ring. I now have to decide if I want to use a DA60 that I have laying around or sell it and get a new GP88 for the P-47.

If you consider the 88cc engine, i would also go with a 4 blade prop. One of my club member put a dle-85 in his topflite jug and it was a hand full. Take offs gave him hell with the torque and it wouldn’t slow down on landings. He switched to a 4 blade prop and the plane is much more predictable and still hauls butt in the air.

I built and currently fly my Ziroli Bearcat with a DA 100 in it.
It is very tame on takeoffs and landings.
I now would not consider anything less than the 100cc engine and will be at the Fon Du Lac warbird meet in a couple weeks.
I believe I have 1 pound of lead on the nose.

Very nice. No problems with the spark plug caps sticking on the right side? Also what retracts do you use. I talked with Darell at Sierra, and he said if I didn't want the scale retracts at 880.00 dollars he said I could use their P-47 gear.
