Thanks Todd,, yeah, it's been awhile for sure! I really miss this stuff...I still have 3 birds in progress (for better than 3 + Years) that I hope to get going on again soon. Once this is in your blood it doesn't go away!

actually building an American plane now
have been painting a few Luftwaffe planes for my buddy Rich
down in LA. Pandissix here in this thread.
waiting on the Meister Dora9 Glass fuse to be available so I can

Did a refurbish on this ME163 Komet ARF...converted it to 5S electric setup from a old TT .40 Glow. Did a "rush" RLM paint scheme...and threw on some decals...yes I know not the correct JG400 decal, but its all I had in the box. Anyways...this thing is a blast!!!! very stable solid flyer, verticle line is impressive, four point rolls, and fast. Very impressed for a POS ARF...if you see these on RCU again...buy one...I took some good flying photos today and will post them when the get downloaded.

Wow thanks Todd...from a sensi like you thats an honor I painted this with a sponge and some 3M automotive sanders...yep "rush" for sure. Jeffs got the 90 inch Joe Saita ME163 almost complete...so will have that out of the hanger soon. Now just need to figure out the Estes Rocket rig out the back and a trolly to drop the landing gear.

Yes fly boys...for about $150 bucks...dont see them anymore?
The TA152...thats another forum for sure but decided on Green 4. I have a signed print by Walter Loos so had to go with the real deal. Ty is mailing the plans this week. I have the full kit Meister Scale D-9 already from David. Hope this project kicks off in about a month. Estimated completion date Nov/Dec for paint and electronic installs. I think its 144 inch wingspan. built arnd 100cc engine...and sierra gear.

The red rocket motor housing is removable from the plane to make reloading the actualy propellent motor easier. Its simply a twist and lock motion to unhook the red motor casing from the black rocket tube stub. Again...see pics.
1st pic. You can see the rocket motor housing and part of the actual rocket tube itself(the black part). I cut the tune down alot and glued that to a wood base. The vent line coming out at the base was tested and found not adequate to make sure all unspent gases could escape properly.
2nd pic. Here you can see the assembly inserted into the plane and where the wood base gets epoxied to the actual structure of the plane internally.
3rd pic. This is the OS flexpipe muffler. This diameter pipe is enough to make sure all gases are routed out the bottom of the plane in order to prevent any type of unwanted boom inside the airframe. If this is not done...then only rocket motors with NO ejection charge can be used.
4th pic. This is where that OS flexpipe muffler sticks out a little on the bottom of the plane. It seems to work quite well and you cant see it at all when the plane is right side up or even flying for that matter.
5th pic. This is the rudder control panel hatch thing on the side. I put an air exit scoop from Hobby-lobby over a hole I made and routed the igniter wire through there. This way...when the rocket actually burns and those metal prongs get nice and toasty, they wont touch the side of the plane or get burned off had they been routed under or over the rocket motor.
The igniter is powered by an electronic switch(a battle switch from dimensionengineering...find them online). The battle switch is powered by a 9v rechargeable battery hooked up to an on/off switch. So, the igniter can be hooked up to the rocket itself and all the wires hooked up and still the rocket is not LIVE until A)The TX and the RX are ON and B)the on/off switch is turned on after the TX/RX are on. I tested the battleswitch with the on/off switch in the ON position while the radio and TX were off and the rocket does not ignite because the battleswitch does NOT detect an active radio link from the RX.
The battleswitch is plugged into a channel with an on/off type lever or a push button(like on a jr9303 for channel 9). Once everything it hooked up, the TX/RX is on and the on/off switch is ON, then and only then is the radio switch capable of sending juice from the 9v battery to the igniter via the battle switch.
6th pic. If you install a rocket motor, then you have to mod the tail wheel/rudder linkage since the rocket tube would be in the way of the tail wheel to rudder wire that the stock setup has.
I used two pushrods from the rudder servo....one to the stock tail wheel stearing arm and the other to the rudder wire that is internal. I cut that joiner wire in half basically and installed another "stear" arm onto the wire coming DOWN from the rudder into the cavity area of the tail.
You have to find away to secure the tail wheel assembly to the bottom of the plane(internally).
7th pic. This is NOT the stock tail wheel setup. That stear arm that came with the kit is used on the wire fro the rudder itself in my setup. The tail wheel assembly you see in the pic is from a CMP ME-109 and has a ball link on it. The bent wire was already premade this way. The black pasltic mount was then screwed down on two two pieces of angled balsa stock which was then epoxied to that same bulk head internal structure inside the tail as the base plate for the rocket motor.

Nice Fw190.. I just won a complete Dave Platt 1/5th scale kit on ebay with every option including the century jet retracts and a Bob Holman cowl. I plan to change the retracts out for Sierra gear like yours.
Topflite D9, IMP D9, Meister D9, Bob Holman D9. They'll all be ready this summer.

Ramstein....Ready for Warbirds of the Rockies? Maybe with the intrest this forum is getting we can get a wulf pack out there? Call it Bodenplatte over the Rockies...enough of the mustangs, P-47 and the everyday stuff....lets swarm it with Luftwaffe!!!! (Bodenplatte was the last Luftwaffe offensive during the battle fo the buldge, but if your reading this forum you knew that).
