Okay, it's not R/C... but I still like to take a break from R/C and indulge in Plastic kits from time to time.
This is my Tamiya FW-190.
1/48 scale
Scratch-built engine, cockpit, internals.
ALOT of photoetch and resin (I made my own masters/molds)
Floqil and aeromaster paints.
You can cover the prop with a silver dollar!

I'm not particularly computer literate. So if somebody could tell me how to transfer a picture from my document file to post on here I would appreciate it.

Click on the "Reply" button on the last post that you want to reply to. A window where you can type text, very similar to the "Fast Reply" window on the bottom of this page, will appear. However, just below the area where you type the text, on the left, it will say "Upload Images". Click on the link, and a new window will appear where you can click on the "browse" buttons and select the filenames of the images on your computer that you want to upload. Once you selected the images, click on "ok" and it should only take a couple of seconds to upload the images.

I hope this worked it did in the preview. It worked ya hoo. it's the Pica kit with a Super Tiger 90 and painted with Dupont automotive paint. I weathered the heck out of it because the pictures I could find of this paticular era where late in the war and Germany was near the end and where just tying to keep them in the air, very little maintenance. Randy Klosterhoff PS Thanks for the help posting my pic everyone.

I built the IMP 109... I am still new to glass but I do have acouple of Yellow aircraft planes adn the diff is night and day.. the IMP glass feels very fragile... but I am not a fiberglass specialist .. the plane did not fly very well... most likely due to inexperienced builder.. once I got it inthe air it was fast and looked mean it tracked nice and tight/... but on landing it would stall a t slower speeds.. I had to alway s land pretty danged fast... ripped the gear out several times.. I have flown many warbirds and I did not like the way this one handled overall again it was prob the way I built it.. the plans were not designed for novice builders of scale aircraft ..
but it sure looked kewl sitting on the runway !

Gotta love those hun birds! I will soon have my mandatory 'stang and will then begnin looking for something unique, SB2C is at the top of the list but I would love to make the piston prototype of the Me 262 I have a few pics and a 3-view in a book somewhere, would make a cool plane.

Excellent collection of pictures of the Luftwaffe Jäger's!
especially the 190ers look so impressive, no other piston fighter was really able to reach the 190 D-12 in its shape and its performance...
but there is still a superior aircraft to every warbird which flew in WWII...the Komet
isn't anybody out there who has got another messerschmitt 163b komet?
I'd be interested in seeing some other images...

Viper, can you tell us more about the Komets? They're beautiful. I've got plans for the 83" version which looks to me as if it's all one piece, i.e. no detachable wings. It's such a cheap plane to build and I would imagine very fast, so it is appealling to me as I've got a new 1.08 sitting on the shelf waiting for it.

First of all I have to tell you that these two Komets aren't large scale, but both fly very well. This means they are as fast as a rocket (the smaller one is capable of doing 290 km/h+), they fly very stable and 'like on railroad tracks' and maneuverability and the roll rate are very interesting.
The bigger one is a Wega-Sunshine kit (wingspan 1,55m, weight 3.8kg), it is powered by a rossi 35R60 2.8bhp engine with a tuned muffler which is completely located inside the fuselage), it has got ailerons, rudder, flettner-ruder and working leading edge slots called c-spalt. The smaller one is a kit from topp-rippin (wingspan 1,4m, weight 2.8kg), it has got the same engine like the bigger one, but it isn't equipped with a large tuned muffler and is only controlled by throttle and ailerons, but it works very well. The engine produces 4kg's of thrust (weight:thrust=1:1,42 !), the plane goes vertical just after take off. This plane is my absolute favourite...it flies so incredibly fast, stable and looks terryfing scale in the air...the rossi-engine is very loud, you can hear the plane from far away, it sounds like a formula one car, really...
if you want to have an overview about which kits are available, I recommend you the following link:
http://www.sml.lr.tudelft.nl/~home/rob/me163/kits.htm
there you also find interesting stuff about the original
cheers

Viper, perfect. Thanks for the link. Looks like the 1.08 will work out perfect. It looks like a quick build, even for a slowby like me! The pics of the dolly really help as I wondered how I might put one together that would work.

RE: Let's See Your Luftwaffe Birds!!!
wulf 190,
I do throw my smaller komet by hand, it just climbs away out of the hand...the bigger one has got a dolly, too. But I haven't yet tested it. If you want I can send some more photos of it. I can seriously recommend you to build a Komet, it looks awesome in the air and handles very well. You're also quite right that building these planes doesn't require to much time...but flying time is a lot of fun...
cheers
