BF109 ready for combat again
Hey everyone,
Like a phoenix from the ashes, the PCM 109 is ready to take to the air again.
Ive finished all the repair work and I just need to install the radio and engine.
Check the webpage for new pics:

Sure does feel good to see her back together again.

Super repair job Evan! I see why you worked so hard to get it back to where it was before the crash. That's one gorgeous model. Did the repairs change the balance much?

RE: BF109 ready for combat again
Thank you for all your kind words everyone, Its been a busy last 2 months getting this thing back together. I just couldnt stand seeing it damaged! It should be ready to fly sometime soon and I hope to get some inflight pics. I will post them as soon as I can.
Tmoth, I havent balanced it yet but I did weigh the fuse. It picked up about .7 lb from all the repairs, including paint. Not bad for a 1/4 scale model. I dont think this will cause any CG issues because most of the repairs were around the spar/CG area. However, I will balance it again as soon as I get all the components installed. I will post the results.
Edwin, the evercoat is available at most auto paint supply stores. Its called "evercoat metal glaze polyester finishing putty". It is light green in color and comes in a 1 quart squeeze bottle which is very handy. You squeeze some into a 1 oz cup, add some hardener, mix it, apply it, and its ready to sand in 15 min, great stuff. I use an old apc prop like a spatula to apply the stuff.

Evan,
I've met guys who didn't have a tenth of your knowledge and skill yet wouldn't share one "secret". Your website and postings are so very helpful and informative. Thank you for sharing your talents and abilities with us. I dare say, it makes me tempted to try stuff I haven't even considered in the past.

Evan, Dude, what can I say that hasn't already been said? You got some serious skills for sure!!! God do I hate doing repair work! I think in the new year I have to plan a trip to Tx. I see you cowboyz have some stuff worth traveling to see...not to mention get to meet you and shoot the spit Okay, maybe a poor attempt at humor, but with all the Luft birds that we have between us...a Spit wouldn't stand a chance! Anyway, I want to see lot's of nice in flight pics of that beautiful 109!
