I love your bird. I found it on the web a long time ago and stashed it in my personaly gallery of cool R/C P51's. Being in IT myself I thought the Y2K theme was very cool....and a bit nerdish

Yeah well... seemed like a good idea at the time. Since sold it but still have 4 Mustangs left.

How did you do your cowl to come out chrome color? Looks great!

And what did you use for your canopy? That's Awesome too!

I too would like help/information on covering cowls. I am not too excited about covering the thin plastic cowl I ordered from Great Planes.

The cowl , canopy and fairings were painted with perfect paint silver. Not an exact match but all the panels on the full scale don't match exactly either.

You make a great point, part of the scale impression is that the panels are slightly different colors. Nice job. Any preference between ultracote and chrome monokote?

And I am guessing that we don't finish our planes with flite metal because it is too expensive?
