Actually the first war was that night when the cave man got home late, after spending all day away from the cave trying to figuring out how to make the WHEEL so he didn't have to had launch the planes... Cave women was real mad!!!

Here is a WW1 Warbird. 1/6th scale scratch built FB5 Vickers GunBus. Prior to take off and an in flight pic. Lots of fun to fly being a pusher and two huge wings.

Not only are many of these photographs stunning but the models themselves are simply amazing!
I got out of r/c flying in the late 80's and started getting the urge again lately. This thread has got me in a tailspin looking at these beautiful warbirds!
Awesome stuff guys!

Thanks Richard. I'm looking real hard at a Modeltech ARF P-47. The 'Jug has always been 'one' of my favorites (got too many favorites!) and that one looks very good. Only bad thing about it I see is lack of flaps otherwise it fits the bill for me. But I'm also looking at lots. I find new ones to peruse every day. Frankly, I'm a little overwhelmed by all the choices now. [sm=idea.gif]

Just got a Hobby People sale flyer in the mail. Presidents Day sale is from 13-17 Feb and the Modeltech P-47 is on sale for $189.99 so there I go!
The Magnum XLS 91A is also on sale. This bird is going to get stuffed with that unless I opt for a 4-stroker.

How about this one....
I took this photo of Jim Ryan's P-47 at an event in Ohio, a couple of years back.
If you can believe it, the scale is 1/15!
Jim can really build!
