FW190 D9 Engine question
O.K. FW190 guys I got a question for you all. I have a framed up
Top Flite FW190. Ready for final sanding. Ready to pick and engine. I was planning on a Saito FA-91S. Yesterday I bought a Saito FA-80 for $40.00. Used but not abused. Do you think this engine will be good in this plane. I know TF says the plane should be around 8-10 lbs., and Saito says the 80 will haul a
14 1/2 lb. plane. The Saito .91 is 1.7 h.p. and the .80 is 1.3 h.p.
Would I be too under-powered? Or just get the .91?
Thanks for any help.
Todd
p.s. if the .80 wouldnt be good, I guess I could put it in my Magic

Burl, I think the 80 Saito will be fine,I had a Pica fw190( about the same size and weight) flew it with a old OS61 and it flew great. The 80 Saito should produce at least that amount of power .I had one and it was great.

FW190 D9 Engine question
Jerry,
thanks for response so far. I believe TF prototyped this bird with a .61FX and it hauled it around. I figure the .80 should as well?
