T-6 Byron(Iron Bay) / Yellow Aircraft - any comments?
I trying to decide on which manufacture to go with on the T-6. They both are about the same size and cost. Just wanted to know who has built either one of the these, and what your comments are.
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: T-6 Byron(Iron Bay) / Yellow Aircraft - any comments?
I've had both kits. They both build into equally fine aircraft which end up almost identical in weight if built according to instructions. The YA kit is far more pre-fabricated and a lot of the tedious and critical center section/wing mounting tasks are already done or set up for you. I personally prefer the YA over the Byron as the build is so much easier. The pre-sheeted and routed wings save a lot of time and make the flap installation super easy and painless. The YA kit is a newer design which doesn't require as many "modernizing" modifications to make it suitable for use. The only caution I would have is to recommend going with the Robart retracts even on the YA kit. These are bullet-proof and you just can't go wrong with them. Don't pay Iron Bay prices for a Byron AT6, as you can find them for a LOT cheaper. I just bought one for around $400. The YA kit is around $650 or so if I'm not mistaken, so the Byron is the price leader on the market, but in my opinion the YA is worth the extra $$!
