ORIGINAL: saramos

I have found that Great Planes makes the same style hinge in the small size with a metal pin. I will be using them on my flaps when I get back to my build.

Scott
i believe these are the ones recommended in the tf manual. the robarts are just too big.

I got the ones recommended in the manual. smaller than the Robarts to be used everywhere else.

I will see how many I have and send you some up if you like Keith.

Cheers

Hey Keith, you still around, haven't fallen off the planet yet? I been waiting with baited breath to check on your progress with no luck. Are you still building?

Let us know where you are in the build process.

Cheers

Keith,
When you get to the final construction part of the manual, paragraph 5 tells you to use a #10 drill to drill the holes through the wing bolt blocks and into the fuse wing blocks........DO NOT USE THE #10 DRILL BIT! It's too big! The bit that comes with the great planes 1/4-20 tap kit is a #7. I ended up having to fill the wing block holes with epoxy and re-drilling with the #7 bit. A question to the experts ..........is this a satisfactory repair or should I replace the wing blocks? Feel free to email me with any questions you may have. I'm working on the wing fairings at the moment.
