No, I paid him through paypal and filed a claim through them. Yes, he wanted money up front and he tried to sale a set to my friend for 200.00, he said no. I wished i would have googled his name and email address before hand and found this post! He also want to do the sale off rc groups via private message, go figure why. He seems to have trouble with email too. Always blaming his " aging brain" but it sure does not forget how to swindle people. I am contacting the postal fraud division and looked on the FBI website for information on internet scam.

Well here is a reply from LEE via email today: "Terry, I have no idea what this is all about! I DO NOT have a "history" of this! I have the package here to go to the PO in about 15 minutes. I have been doing this for almost 40 years, serving Top Gun and Scale Masters people as well as others! I have served people worldwide, such places as Yokohama, Japan, Iceland, So. Africa, Germany, Holland, Italy, and others! I will send you some comments from customers! "

He been at this 40 years: how has he gotten by with doing this to people?

I sent him him money (first). I got gear. End of story. I'm happy (the plane isn't finished yet as I ran into health problems). This was 3-4 (5?) years ago and the bird is still on the board. With the gear in the wings. Time to exercise them again. I'm happy.

I learned a new word today! Thanks radfordc, I was unfamiliar with the term "addled". Great word, I will be using it often.

ad·dled
ˈadld/
adjective

  • 1.
    unable to think clearly; confused.
"this might just be my addled brain playing tricks"

I think you had to have grown up in the south to have heard that word in use.

Not worried about a thing. Wanted to know what the installation of those retracts would cost in weight and money and that doesn't seem to be easy to find.

Do you know?

The "no user reports" is, IMHO, a much bigger concern. I would bet that da Rock would agree. Until I see some feedback from real world users I'm not going to make any claims about the search for a reliable .60 size electric rotating retract having come to an end. Needless to say ALL of the manufacturers of electric retracts have had some pretty serious quality / reliability issues, Robart included.

Hi Chad. I haven't been to this site for some time. My age is finally catching up to me, although my general health is pretty good. Please send me your current email address, and I will send you a batch of "user reports" !! [email protected]. Incidentally, I have seen a number of postings, in various places, that said I could not be found!! I have NEVER had an unlisted phone, and apparently those guys didn't have enough smarts to call old fashioned "information"!! I'm still doing a little work on retracts, but limited. I'm doing 2 rotators right now, and one of them has bought at least 3 systems from me; P-51; Me-109, and this one for a Top Flite P-40. At 88.3 it's getting a bit more difficult, but I simply limit what I do, and can still operate my equipment with high accuracy. In fact, I'm ready to renew my FAA Class 2 Commercial Medical, for my cmel ratings which I still maintain, even though my wallet won't let me do much flying any more! 100 bucks for a miserable C-150??? No way! But I maintain my ratings as long as I can, and occasionally fly with a friend. He has finally sold both his planes. I flew with him when he couldn't pass the physical due to a bypass op. I was pilot-in-command "ballast!!" Lee

My comment was in regards to the lack of user reports on the new Robart 810 electric rotaters and not directed at your products Lee.
