Wine and Woman are on a parallel course. You can say about both of them that Bad is Good and Good is bad. There is Good and Bad in both.

Hi Astro. Great to hear. That Comp Arf is a little bigger then ours. Definitely a Moki for that one. I forgot who's got the Moki you or Ken? Do a build thread on it and post a link here. Never seen one of those that didn't inspire drooling by onlookers. Definitely keep us posted.
Ken's got the Compy Corsair and the Moki. I am working on the Compy P-47 with another gentleman in our club as a joint project, and we do have the 250 Moki for it.

I have to tell you, this 30" 4-blade prop and hub are awesome!

Quick question....
For those of you flying the P-47, did you use the stock 1/16" servo doors or you did substitute with something more beefy?
I am in the process of installing them and I really don't like how thin the wood is.

Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks

Fabio

Hi Pete, two things i am not far from finding out the CG on my Model design Sea Fury i am not sure but do you have one and if so where is the CG.
I have Earny's recommended CG but with everything Earny i want to check it.
Also are you up to date with the crap fight going on with AMAS and the MAS/MAAA and Luskintyre the political stuff flying around is incredible.
Dave.

Dave,
mate mine is a Vailly version but would think CG would be the same?? I can drag plans out and check if you like. I do recall that the CG on the big MD Spit was wildly off! I have one so will check it closely when I get around to building it.

No what is the go with all of that drama? PM me . . .

Not a lot of modelling going on with me, very busy with family. Partner is o/s till just before Chrissy so we are on Facetime/Skype all the time which leave little time for sleep let alone model planes! Normally I get a 4am wake up call which is lovely I might add. 38 days till she is home but who is counting LOL

cheers
Peter

Hi gents. My first post related to the P-47 since I just started building. I have read through a lot of the posts to takes notes of where I might have issues but haven't found anything related to this. I'm at the point where I have to install the aft fuse block, that 3" x 9.5" hunk of balsa. The manual is a little vague as to how exactly that piece is to be positioned. Does the 3" side sit horizontal or vertical in the opening between the 2 stringers running from the tail wheel to just in front of the rudder? I can see that there is a lot of cutting and sanding required to get the final shape but knowing how the block should be positioned makes a big difference in how far the balsa sheeting has to extend.

Any advice from those that have done it? Thanks.

Steve

Hay Steve

Seeing that I am older than Mr. Oz, and have flown mine (he he) I will give it a try first your sheeting should be complete and trimed per the pic on pg 23 then fit the block to require the least amount of carving, as I remember I also had the rudder temp installed and clamped stright to get a nice transition.

Hope this helps

Cheers Bob T

Hi Ram-bro, the tri motor flew twice it was surprisingly quite he was not cranking it but a loverlee buzz, and when you consider how all three Moki's are mounted i don't blame him.
There will be lots of video's around soon, its a bit early yet i will point them out when they pop up.
Dave.

One question gang....
I finally put the wing on the fuse and drilled the mounting holes.
Now I need to sight in, the wing to the stab.
Looks like I need to shim one side quite a bit, maybe a 3/16" and sand a little to the other.
Did you guys had the same issue when you mounted the wing flat in respect to the stab?
I think I build everything square...why is this happening?

Thanks
