Don't worry Pete, I think we are all guilty in our own way. With a 1/5 Pica Mustang sitting less than half done in my shed that was started in 1998, I probably should not be pointing fingers at anyone!!!! For me though time has passed that project by as it is not likely to be completed. For that much work I could produce a much more accurate model.
Cheers

Looking for a little scale detailing help. I have some hangar rash I'm cleaning up on mine from my move (3yrs ago).
I have some dents and the wing saddle split a little. My base layer was painted with gray primer and the top coats are Klass Kote yellow/green. Anyone have tips/tricks to make the repairs look like silver paint chipping away?

squirt the area with silver paint, you could try putting a little board wax or similar in the little spots you dont want paint to stick or use some of that moddeling latex the plastic moddelers use. Paint a bit on in those dings. Spreay top colours then pick away the latex or wax.
Never tried it myself but worth a shot.

did you go to TMAC warbirds Dave? I was going to go, had little spitty charged up but woke up with the black dog big time so layed on the couch all day. Mannn
Yes get your butt over here Bob. FYI we have pots, middies or schooners. Pints are for the poms and they are only good for being beaten at all forms of sport, especially cricket.
yeah Mick I hear you! I have a TF Cessna 182 kit that I bought on my first trip to the US back in 96 when I was hanging around in Tx & La.
Had fun there too! Was dating this very buxom red headed Texas Gal, man she was a fun babe! Yes Maaam Y'all!! LOL
Smart too, was completing a Masters in micro biology.

Don't worry about the HK Vamp. they will eventually stock it on the ozzie warehouse. the cool thing about HK is that it's owned by the guy who owns Nvida, i.e. cashed up to the N'th, but he's also an Aussie, so the Oz warehouse often get models first or very quickly! it will only be a matter of time till it becomes avail. you'll just have to get in quick thats all. be prepared. No reports on how this one flies... at 90mm EDF for me, it the delicate weight boundary were some models are better of in foam, some in glass.. if it flies like there little vamp. it will be really nice! if they made a 120mm version, then I'd be up for that!
Let me know when the next event is on. I will see what shaneo's doing around those dates and will let you know. been ages since I last flew at tin can bay.
Thanks
dave

mate it is not the 300hp and 555nm of torque that is the issue, it is that right foot!
I'd be thinking time to offload it before other bits start to break. Could be the first sign of things to come. I treat my Disco with kid gloves these days. It does need a new battery but I am getting around it by giving it a deep charge every couple of weeks. Bit cooler last night and could hear a decided lag in the cranking over. Special programs flashed off on the display as well which means the EPUs detected low battery voltage.
At around $650 for a new LR one 950CCA and 90amp I am trying to prolong it's life for as long as possible.
Bought one of those Hitec 4 port chargers the other day off fleabay, should be at the post office today and that will make charging much easier. Ron has one and loves it.
HK still done have the vampire in AU warehouse and only 3 listed as in stock in international. Fingers crossed!
Do you think it would be a reasonable flier?? I know nothing about these electric DF jobs and this would be my first dabble into the black world of electrics, odd I know given my professional background!
I have not seen any reviews on it yet.
Wont be going to tin can bay, too far for my pocket at present and I need stick time on the P51 to put nerves at bay.
cheers

Hasn't arrived in the AU warehouse yet. so you haven't missed out. It's only been released in the international one so far.

If it's anything like it's little cousin, and there is nothing to suggest otherwise, then yeah it should be a nice docile flyer. straight up your ally I would think. it won't be a ball of fire speed wise because without intake ducting it will be rather draggy. and it seems like it is sold without it either. EDF not that different to any other e powered model, other than they are generally fairly harsh on their batteries. you'll have to come over and get electrics 101 from me. much easier to show you seeing as I have plenty of them here.

hEY dAVE,
WELL GOT THE hITEC CHARGER AND A BIT DISSapointed as I keep getting break down errors which according to the manual indicates it is fault with the charger. Seems to happen when I am running 3 or more packs at once.
Emailed mild to wild where I got it from and they have not replied yet. Trying to dodge no doubt.
Got out for a fly Sunday with the Cub, 3 flights, one deadstick. Model home in one piece!
No work on anything of note. Did some maintenance on the Cub, new bungees and some fixes to the undercarraige.
still got one air leak on the P51 to fix. Little interest in much at present.
Couch is winning & working through watching season 1 & 2 of Revolution. SciFi doomsday type of series, pretty good too. Lots of gratuetous violence!!
and before you lot start nagging me yes I will get back into things. Just lots going on zapping my energy and desire to do much enjoyment wise.
ex fiance still causing grief, has driven a huge wedge between me and my girls as well as getting in touch with my ex wife and causing trouble over access to me son. seriously where does this damn woman get off???
Anyway you can understand why I am down in the dumps.
Life will get better I hope.
Frig this thread is like days of our drearies.
Wont get up to tin can bay mate. Need to get stick time on the 51 and get confidence back.
that is it from me.
Over to you rabbit leader!

Dave. Get pete's Lazy @$$ off of the couch and drag him to Tin Can Bay. He don't need to fly to have a good time and hang out with his mates. In my Non professional opinion. That's what he needs. Don't give him a choice.
If I was there that's what I would do. So thank your lucky stars I'm not your neighbor Pete.
