I started working on the walk between the shop and the house again. I'm pretty sure that this time I'll finish it. LOL.

I also finished framing the top wing to the Camel and put it into storage till it's needed again.

good job mate.

I wish I could just leave everything set up and not have to move again. Will probably move in about another year.

Might be able to buy my own joint one day.

Never had a cover tugger, but the Part that is driving me daffy is the little pieces that just don't want to come off mostly around seams and corners, I pick at it for about 2 hrs then off on something ells for a while. Cutting out the broken sheeting and such.

Hay Tom that wing up on the top station looks good right ware you can forget about it

LOL. Nah I can't miss it it stares me in the face when I walk through the door.

Right now I'm putting down a brick walk. Been putting it off for two years. I developed a guilty complex about it. The only problem is I got old, fat, and out of shape. This was one days work. I can't lift my arms. Can't bend my knees and my back is killing me. LOL. I still have to get it finished up as fast as I can cause the forcast calls for flying weather for the weekend.

pavers are a PINTB!!

All about getting the bed level. then sweep that sand into the gaps and compact it down.

Did some of that years ago when I was much fitter - you can have that to yourself mate.

I've been having fun chasing the blasted bush turkey that is digging holes in my back yard, been pegging large rocks at it and if one connects he will know about it!!

Pete
Those bush turkeys can be a real problem from what I have read, but they are color full, and they are a bit like our wild turkeys, might make a fair meal

yeah only you are about 10 years late. Have fun reading back. Learn oz 101

Bob: yeah they are not bad eating actually, better then a galah

we have a saying here, how to cook a galah.

Get large pot and half fill with water, bring to the boil, add seasoning to taste, add one dead galah and one medium sized stone. the galah gets upset if it is not dead, the stone could not care less.

Simmer for 4 days, drain, throw the galah away and eat the stone.

boom boom

bit of fiddlying with the P47 last night, did a trail fit of the retracts again to ensure they still fitted in after the CF was epoxied in place. Had to do a small amount of sanding here and there but they go in and can be removed easily.

All lines up nicely. Happy happy joy joy !!

hay Pete

Had a chance to try to find Info on the finishing resin you mentioned ( Deluxe Systems) and could not find any thing on it. So when you have a chance would you please get more info mfg, distributer etc. It may be under a different name hear in the statas. For the finishing on the corsair I need to really watch any added weight.

that is the stuff. the good thing with that stuff is it is NON toxic and cleans up with water. Reports from guys here using it is that it is VERY light. The resin is cured in about 2 hours so you can get a whole model glassed in a weekend!

I have not tried it yet but when I do the seafury wing I will try it.

My Club TMAC had a huge model expo on Sunday. Was by invitation and I was flying the Tiger Moth. All very well organised, models by category groups with 4 models per 10 min slot. While one group was up flying the next group was in the starting pens ready to go.

I got up then was flying about with the mdoel wagging it tail like a dog and I am thinking "what the" when my spotter Ron noticed the rudder flapping! It had come loose.

I turned downwid and lined it up and can tell you the tiggy likes a lot of rudder to turn so was interesting turning without one. Anyway got is safely on the ground with a nice landing and found out the hinges had broken. It uses CA style myla hinges, same for elevators.

I'll be replacing both with some flat pinned dubro hinges. That should fix the bugger!

I had the Mobios video camera fitted to the wing. Mobius is a bit like a GoPro but a lot cheaper. Still gives very clear 1080P resolution. Had a look at that later on and was interesting to watch the flight from a pilots perspective on the place. Very good view from up there!

We have a Warbirds Meet at Gratton field next Sunday so will take the P51 out and the Vampire for it's maiden flight.

I'll see if I can upload the video to youtube tonight.

No work really on the P47, I'm out of the model master paint I need in Chromate yellow so need to get some in. Local hobby shops don't stock much any more and I can't get it sent from the US as it can't be air frieghted anymore.

Managed to get 3 bottles of the Testors Model Master Zinc Chomate yellow from a hobby shop and 2 more from the US off fleabay.

That should be enough. We have very high humidity now so will spray a trial piece to make sure no issues.

yeah I agree, can not get epoxy or CA sent any more but you can get finishing resin sent - go figure!!

No painting last night, far too humid so fixed the rudder on the tiger moth, took all of 10 minutes! H9 only fit some fairly narrow CA hinge in 2 places on the rudder, not nearly enough. I now have 3 wide pinned hinges in place.

Thinking I should do the elevators as well.

Will see what the weather is like tonight, if not so bad I will start squirting some of the chrome yellow into the wells and on gear doors. Exciting part!

Good report.

Not much going on hear in fly over land as it is getting cooler, still picking at the corsair, trying to find some balsa wood 3/4 X 1 X what ever length and our 2 major local hobby shops no longer carry a supply, so may put the Corsair on a back burner till I can find some bits. so the Weeks is now on the bench. Our flying days are numbered for the rest of this season

cheers Bob T

Have not heard a peep out of Old Tom wonder if his back, or the manual labor has done him in for a bit

that is the trouble with all these TRFs, no one builds so the LHS don't stock much anymore.

Our larger hardware store such as Bunnings carry a fair bit of balsa stock and so do the bigger hobby shops. But at a price!

Old Tom will be hiding under his bench drinking Hungarian red wine and munching on hot sausage!!

I'm here paying attention. Just not much to say. The walk is in and I'm playing around with the tail surfs of the Camel.

Knew that would get a bite hehehe

Good work on the Camel mate.

I have had a productive evening. Did some work on my Landrover. Turns out the MAP sensor was full of gunk so carefully cleaned that. Then checked the intercooler hose and it looks like it has a split in it, so off to MR Landrover tomorrow for a new one.

Did some work on the P47, started spraying in the wheel wells and on bottom of gear doors. Needs another coat yet. It's a start.
