Pete
Sorry to hear about the vamp, # 1 pic it is a nice looking bird ( looks fast) # 2 pic Ive seen better at least if you put the second one together you will have a better set up.
Not much to report hear except it has been cool and yes the number is right been down to -15C for low's and about 5C for hi's for the last week and the weather guys are saying it will last for another week before it warms up a bit.
Been hibernating in the shop finally got all of the plastic covering off the corsair and all of the hinge pin holes plugged, all the dings repaired, so as soon as I get the sheeting done it goes on the shelf so I can get the Weeks back in shape.
The bright side is it is only 35 days till the days start getting longer
Cheers Bob T

hey Bob,
yeah mate it did look good and you are right, it was FAST!! I haven't flown a fast mover before so a whole new learning curve for me. It was fun to fly though so I am leanging towards one of two options:
1. Build the Vampire I have sitting in the box but with a different ESC, thinking that a 120A YEP unit is the way to go, mate of mine Dave (ticketec) put me on to them as he uses them in his jets.
2. Test the fan/motor from the wrecked vampire and makse sure it is fine to reuse. If so I will then order just a bare version and for all my bits out of the crashed Vampire. Everything seems ok except for 1 servo that stripped. Just need to ensure the fan and motor are ok first.
If that is feasible I can sell of the other Vampire to cover my costs.
Weather, very hot and humid here. We had 41 on Sunday for last day of G20. Oh Bummer was trying to tell us we needed to pay a cimate change tax, go and stuff yourself oh bummer. Climate change is nothing but a sociast tax hiding behind a green environmental facade and put forward by the UN who get 10% of the taxes raised by western nations.
Biggest scam out apart from the halal certification scam which is with trillions globally and we poor suckers pay for that on all out food items now, go look at your product lables for the insidious little emblem on them. Grrrr
Anyway I would like some cool weather! She is like an oven to work in, even at night it is awful
good you are getting your Corsair sorted out.
My yellow chromate paint arrived yesterday so can finish off the bit on the outer doors. Still have to get some slow thinners before I do top colour.
Will do a bit of work on the colw mounts first, still not happy with those. Need to slo fit the mounting block inside fuz for dummy antenna.
Once that is done it will be time to start squirting a bit of silver down in the high wear areas so I can do a little weathering here and there. Step areas, around cockpit rim, leading edges of wing and stap, fin, and cowl.
Then to fit wing and squirt the light grey undersurfaces . . .
then plan out where the dark grey top surface needs to go and mark out camo.
blah blah

good job mate.
bob yeah yeah funny man P~~~
Will be back in the shed on the weekend.
Spakie thing is in a 1000 pieces at the moment on my spare bench and I'm not sure yet which direction to go with it. Once I test the fan/motor unit I will know for sure which way to go.
Poor Old Cub is still there broken as well.

Nice Job CRJ.
IDon't like fast movers Pete. I can fly them just get no thrill from them.
I'm pissed. Been kind of busy and wasn't paying attention. I stopped getting notifications. I look in here and find out I missed a bunch of stuff.

OLD TOM
That is what happens when you get OLD (paying attention)
But if your weather has been like ours cold /windy maybe it is time to find a nice warm shop.
cheers Bob T
P.S. Chris the trip is on my list but I can't put in for vacation till April 2015 And That is kinda my plan

The wife and I need out space you know what I mean enough of that B/S

Hey Bob. I've been staying busy. The high temp here today was 20F. Working on my Camel pretty regular. My son has his Yak here for me to work on and I just picked up Sukhoi to finish this winter. Done with outdoor flying till spring.I'll be getting back to the Camel by the end of the week I'll be finished with my sons red white and blue Yak behind the Camel picture.

Yes Pete they do make great helicopters. About the only thing I can't warm up to is jets. I like watching them fly for about 2 minutes then I put the binoculars down.

OMG is that thing realistic, has to be seen to be believed. Even has the dash screens and head up display operable. Pilot is fully animontronic.
Look in youtube for it.
Very cool.
I see half the US is under mountains of snow, hoppe you uys are ok over there. We have the opposite. High temps and high humidity. Had a huge thunderstorm last night with monsoon rains. Lightning strike 2 doors up took out the power and was about 4 or 5 hours till it got resored, just in time for last 45 mins of the cricket :-)
Which we won, against South Africa too.

Were ok. Most of that snow is East of us around the Buffalo area. The deep snow is centralized in one area and that area is bad off.
I suppose if I had the thick wallet to build one of those Scaled out F-18 hornets I probably wouldn't turn it down.

Well hopefully all that snow stays away. Can't have Bob getting frostbite!
mmmm I'd love something like that, though I think a CARF Corsaid with a big Moki would be more my style.
Though don't have the fat wallet for either of those.
thinking of getting a fomie corsair for a bit of fun. Might be my Christmas present to myself.

Hi Tom
We got a bit of snow 3 inches hear at the house, just enough to use the snow blower her it is the deep freeze last 2 nites 2deg's for lows 16 to 18 for hi's and wind 10 to 20 mph so wind chill is a big factor.
Well like I said I am still in the repair mode, and the way it id going I am not sure I will get them finished by spring. Building is a lot more fun.
Cheers Bob T

mate you would look gret as the weather girl hehehe
throw in a few cranky old man expletives to make it interesting. Be better then blonde bimbo barbie who has no idea what she is pointing at anyway.
Yeah I dont mind repairs as they make me think of the engineering that needs to go into it, strucrural laods to be met and weight penalties then how to make it all look pretty. they can be challenging.
Cub looks a mess but I know it is all fixable so no concerned, just need find the time to do it.
Like you I have lots of things to work on, Vampire build, Cub repair, and finish build of P47
P47 is priority at the moment.
