TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

Sorry to put my moderating hat back on for a moment because trust me, I'd really rather discuss models.
I cleaned up ALL the off topic discussion (including mine) for the last 2 or 3 pages, as I will remove any more discussion of who did what to whom. The discussion is back on track and I wish it to remain going in that direction.
Thanks and for the yanks I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Ok gentlemen, BarracudaHockey has done a very good job of trying to keep this thread running smoothly up to now, but now it's time that I get involved in this mess. So first of all, let me lay this out. I have read through the entire mess that is going on here and I have a perfectly clear picture of what is going on here. So if there is anybody that is involved in this mess that thinks that they are going to "kiss up" to me, or "get on my good side" just so that they can try to get me to moderate in their favor I can assure that that IS NOT going to happen. I have been moderating the forums here at RCU for a very VERY long time and I am extremely good at reading through messes like this and sorting out where the troublemakers are. And I've pretty much got the troublemaker in this group spotted and now I have my eye on him. So let me say this, the personal bickering and childish petty fighting WILL come to an end right NOW. PERIOD. If it does not I will start putting those that are causing the problems in a time out and sit them in a corner where they can sit by themselves for awhile to think about what they have done. Is that a little drastic? Maybe, but some of what has gone on in here pretty much warrants that level of warning from me. Now, for the rest of the people in this forum that have had to deal with this stuff, my advice to you is to simply ignore the troublemaker(s). Put them on your ignore list. It's just that simple. If you do that you won't see them any longer and you won't be tempted to get drawn down to their level. But all of this nonsense is going to stop right now. This thread is an important thread about a fantastic warbird and it deserves to not be dragged down into the mud by just a very few people. So let's quit with the childish games guys. Ok????
Thanks
Thanks

Right update on P47 progress, hopefully with no interferrence this time.
Many thanks to OldDC for posting photos while the fun police grew a little mo and donned a white coat . . .
Bob, Tom et al thanks to you guys for your continued friendship and support.
Painting is completed as is the matt clear coat.
Servos are installed in the wing, in fact I must have did that about 9 or 10 years ago when I built the wing. HS-945 on flaps and JR DS-8231 on ailerons. Glad I do not have to fund servos!
Retracts and gear doors are all fitted.
Installed the robart control horns on ailerons and elevators last night. The control rods for the elevators are quite stiff, anyone else find that? I am going to dribble some engine oil down the tubes to reduce friction.
Hopefully that helps to some degree.
Have to get some 4-40 threaded rods and bits for the engine throttle linkages etc.
Oh and the driver is in his office and quite likes being there as opposed to shoved in a box
Will get the servo tray installed next.
cheers

I've been waiting a long time for you to finish this plane. I'm as exited as you are. Maybe more. I'm glad I don't have to miss out on it.
You can "Carry On" now!.

LOL.I don't have my new Extra 35cc Hovering thing yet.
Working on the Camel. Can't find the Hardware that I put into safe keeping last winter. So I ordered a new hardware pack. While I was on the phone with BUSA I also ordered a Spun aluminum Cowl. I thought it would ad to the cool factor and help with balance... I also just this evening finished up my Pizza Box combat plane for the indoor season The other two that I had for 3 years were shot.

ahh mate try finding bits and pieces you put aside 10 years ago and have had about 8 moves over those years.
I have to try and work out all the wiring i built into the wing yet, servos are easy but all the others for the nav, sqn ident and landing light are a little trickier. I "think" I built in the current drop resistors for the LEDs but don't remember. Pretty sure I caluated the values based on a 4..8v battery pack hmmmm
Will do some tests and work it out.
the Camel should look good when completed. I do a lot of flying with the 1/4 scale Tiger Moth, stooge around at quarter throttle mostly, I can get 30 mins out of a tank but after 15 I am wanting to hand the tx over to somebody else.
2 weeks off over Christmas so hope to have the 47 ready for test flights. I'll then repair the 1/4 scale Cub and build the new wing for the Seafury.
cheers

LOL. Bob is Synonymous with Pictures.
My winter has 3 planes in the plans. The 35cc extra. I'm getting from PAU. I'm friends with the owner of PAU and I've been working on him for 5 years to get a smaller plane that the average guy can afford. I'm average Guy. He is finally getting the first shipment in on the 21st of Dec. Hope to have the first one shipped to me. That won't take long. About a week. 2 weeks if I take my time. I have everything need except the fuel dot and that is on the way.
Then I think I'll finish the Camel. I think I have everything for it except paint and stencils.
#3 is the Jug. I dropped the ruder on the edge of the table and broke a glue joint on 2 hinges. Found a leak in the gas tank the last time I flew it. I have a new clear water bottle tank I'm putting in it. I also want to rework how I mount the tank.
That's it but that should take up my winter. Of course I'll post pictures here when I'm working on the jug. Just for Bob.

mate we are all average blokes here, we build and fly what we can afford. My budget is very limited these days. Not like a few years back when I was married and we both had good incomes.
the extra should give you lots of fun, I am thinking about some sort of sport model, a Dragon lady with a 30cc would be perfect but you can't get those any longer. Maybe a SIG Spacewalker hmmm
Carrie at Carriegraphics is great to do biz with.
Oh bugger on the rudder, I hate damaging models like that. Hopefuly that repair is not too serious?
Yes do keep Bob happy, can't have him getting cranky at us hehehe

Icould send you my 30 OLD Dragon lady. But it needs a lot and I mean a of of TLC to geit back in the air, they are a tuff bird.
Well my 47, 300, weeks and the bad bipe are ready to go in the spring, I still have to finish the overhall on the Corsair just paint and balance,
Hope to start the bash on the 1/4 scale Cub to a super cub after the new year.
This all depends on how my med problems work out the Meniers thingy is the one giving me the fits, so wee will just have to see
Old Tom the 300's are a hoot to fly vary responsive mine is an old G/P with an RCGF-26 and for me it is quick So Good Luck with your new one hope you have as much fun with it as I do with mine.
Keep us posted on the progress of your 47
One other thing couple of club members had trouble with tanks last season so they switched to the new roto-flow things and there problems went away so I just might try one in the new cub when the time comes.
Cheers Bob T

Hi Bob. Sorry about your Meniers acting up. I've had an extra of one sort or another since I finished building my Jug. They are equaly my favorite planes. I mostly use them to fly IMAC.
Here is the arsenal since 09...
