They had them on sale at a preorder price a couple of months ago. They still use the same design that the 615's use with the notchs in the side rails and the little gear on top. I just rebuilt my sierras after crashing my p-40 with the gear down and after taking them all apart his design is just superior. I saw someone adapted them to electric's somewhere. Check Tower for the new 810's as they have them cheaper than Robart is selling them.

After having the 615's and now I have installed the Sierra's, I will say Sierra is the best choice. I had Sierra's delivered to my door complete for $300.00 My robarts failed on both flights I flew with them, garbage in my opinion. I am packing them up and sending them back. If the 810's work on the same design then I would steer clear. I have had great luck with Robarts in my GS warbirds but these do not hold up. JMO.

Got to fly my Hellcat about six times over the weekend. This is a great flying airplane. With the G-26 and a 16 x 8 three blade Master airscrew, this thing is fast! I was out-running a .60 size Miss America Mustang with a Saito 100 on it!
Very impressed!. Now I need to add the gear doors and drop tank, then do some weathering.

I tried the 18x8 3 blade prop on my DLE -20 way over propped it ,figured it would work fine on a 26-30cc engine.Cheers: Rich

Sorry it took so long, but I tached the G26 with a 16 x 8 x 3 MAS prop this weekend. I was surprised to see it tach 9100 on the ground, and the motor really unloaded in the air!

Hello all CMP F6F Hellcater's
I Know this thread has been idle for over a year and a half, but I just finished my F6F this past Sunday. She is powered by a CrrC Pro 26cc engine and I have set the CG very close to MAC of the wing @ 5"from the leading edge.I checked my Cmpro build manual and the CG range is 120mm/4.75" to 140mm/5.5".As you can see from the photo's my plane is slightly nose down with the gears extended, which is where I like my warbirds CG to be.My question is what's your CG? I seem to remember the manual was wrong,to be honest I don't feel like read through 96 pages. Thanks for you time Rich

Thanks for your input, 25% of Mac is 4." I calculated 33% of mac 4.96" manual cg range is 120mm to 135mm[I incorrectly stated 120-140mm] wheel down which in hinge sight is wrong since the gear moves aft,the cg will change,I may re-balance with one gear down and one stowed.
  1. A=16"
  2. B=7.75"
  3. S=2"
  4. Y=35"
  5. MAC % rang 20-25 flywings 25-33% conventional/swept wings 25%
  6. CG=3.97" 30% mac=cg4.59" and 33% mac=4.96"

Okay I played with cg today, as most know the manual is wrong,if use published C.G. range of 120mm/4.7"-135mm 5.3" the plane would be tail heavy.I set my cg at 4.5"/114.3mm from the L.E. which comes out to 30%MAC. I this C.G. require me to add 10oz of lead to the nose,Total weight of aircraft is 13.25lbs! I dare say I fear my robart #615 gear will be taxed,I need to be gental on landings

no sure what your asking? Total cost to build I'm assuming,if that's the case about $750.00 not including my time to do all the details.

Sooo, somebody gave me this plane (airframe) and I now know after skimming through this thread I'm going to enjoy putting this one back in the air. I'm looking forward to reading all 97 pages, looks like you guys have covered everything with this one...

I should be able to get this one flying in the not too distant future. I just mounted a Tacon 110 in it last night and am looking for retracts right now. I'm thinking about the eflite 60-120 series as I want to keep it simple, but have only read a few reviews about them. The manual says they're rated up to 15 lb airframes, so looks like they'll work. I also just ordered a new canopy from Chad (cwvmodels) and am looking forward to receiving it...

Hey proteus_x3,

Did you get to maiden the Hellcat this past year ? How did your 4.5in CG work? I have a good friend who just found one of these new in the box however it's missing the manual.

If anyone has a manual that you don't need and would sell that would be great. PM me with details/cost and I can get for him.

He has about 40+ years in RC so he can build it without the manual, but it's nice to have...

Joe

I have one NIB, I will check the manual. I might be able to scan it and send it by email.
