Thank you Phil,
Sure thing, I find that flattering that a modeler over in the UK would want to post a photo of some low grade US models. From the short time I have spent over in Europe, it looks to me like you guys take your model building a lot more serious than us yanks do
Larry B
You obviously have not seen any of my models, they are as rough as an Elephants back side.
Can you post some details for the models that you have posted here please.

Sure thing, the first model is a Polish Lublin R-XIIID which was a observation plane that was used right up until Poland was overrun at the beginning of WWII. The model is 1/4 scale giving it a span of 132", weight is 26lbs, power is a Saito FG36 gas four stroke. It's covered in the old antique Coverite that you can't get anymore and paint is custom mixed colors by Klass Kote. It was built from my own plans using very standard construction methods except for a bit of welding on the landing gear and center wing struts.
The second Model is my newest addition which is a Fiat CR-32 Italian fighter. it is also from my own plans built to 1/4 scale, I used Peter Westburg 3 views to come up with this set of plans. Power is the big OS Max BGX glow, weight is 25lbs, span is 94" (I think?) . Its covered in Solartex unpainted antique fabric and then painted with Klass Kote epoxy. I did all the molds for the glass cowl and wheel pants.
The 109G-10 is a kit bash of American Eagle and Meister parts. It's 1/4 scale and powered by the good old G62. span is 98", weight is 38lbs, and its also done up in Klass Kote epoxy paint. I have been flying the 109 for over 3 years now and it has become my weekend "beater", I enjoy the way it performs so much I'm doing a 1/4 scale 109E-4/N from my own molds as a contest model.
I hope this helps a bit Phil,
Larry B

You beauty,
I have had confirmation today from the RAF events team,
that we will be receiving a flypast by a Spitfire and a Sea King at this event.
It does not get any better than that for me, a Spitfire or Hurricane flypast
at a Battle of Britain event.
Yippee.
Regards Phil G.

Dear Andy
Thanks for posting your excellent pictures here, I am glad it went well.
I know how hard my good friend and his team work on these events.
I am just sorry that I could not be there.
Do you have any details of the models please?
It is very unusual to see a P39 and a Javelin.
Regards Phil G.

Dear Andy
Thank you, I know the Martin you are talking about, he is a friend of mine.
I had a Ziroli mustang plan scaled down to 1/5th scale,
in hind site I wish I had, had a BT plan scaled up.
So needless to say, I have not started it yet.

Dear All
I have just received an email from Dutch scale legend Jan Hermkens
informing me that, Jan and three of his club mates will be attending this event again this year.
Jan last came over in 2011.
Here is a brief description of some of Jan's achievements in scale/stand off scale competitions.
24x Dutch National Champion ! :
9x in Waterflying (continous from 1982 till 1990!)
3x in F4C (FAI Scale),
3x in Large Scale,
9x in Stand-off Scale.
International Results: Between 1988 and 2004, I was:
8x Dutch Open Champion Stand-off Scale + 2x Runner-Up
1x German Open Champion Stand-off Scale. (The only foreigner ever !) + 1x Runner-Up
6x EUROPEAN CHAMPION Stand-off SCALE ( Europa Star Cup)+ 1x Runner-Up
1x Winner Graupner Euro Bodenlake Cup for Scale Waterplanes
Winner of 40 International Scale Contests in: NL, D, P, CZ, A, CH, F, GB, B.
Jan is hoping to bring along his B17 nine 0 nine or his P61 Black Widow,
or if possible both of them.
After this event Jan is off to flying legends at Duxford and he also plans to visit Old Warden
and Bassingbourne.
To say that I am pleased that Jan is coming over to Tibenham with his superb models is an understatement.
Here is a link to his website and below is a some pictures of onsome of Jans models.
This was taken at Tibenham when Jan visited us in 2011.

Dear All
I received some more pictures from Peter Reed regarding the progress
on his Dauntless. All being well I can see no reason why it will not be ready for this event.
There is rivet detail but it does not show up too well in the pictures.
The 80cc twin Zenoah should sound nice.
Regards Phil G.

Scoobiemario,
Thanks for posting your excellent models here, from your pictures you can see why we are all in love with Warbirds.
Plus there is something about P47's, they all seem big brutes what ever scale they are and they all seem to fly well.
I think most people would agree that the Spitfire and P51 have more elegant lines, but the P47 looks as if it means business.
Thanks once again for posting here, it would be interesting to know what engines etc you have in these models.
In closing, not forgetting the debt of gratitude we owe to the men who flew these Warbirds in combat.
Regards Phil G.

I agree, P47 is all about business, big, well armed. It could take a beating.
Some stories about 47's being shot to pieces and still bringing pilot safely to the base are amazing.
The Pied Piper is Top Flite kit, 5th scale, has Zenoah G62, magneto and spring starter(love that thing), 22x10 prop. Robart gear, Futaba 9001 servos(replacing with hitec 645MG shortly) I've flown it few times only, it's stable and powerful flier.
Little Demon is Hangar 9, Power110 motor with APC15.5x12x4 prop, CC ICE100A ESC, 6S5000 lipo, Eflite gear, Hitec 225MG servos. I added gun lights (LED's in the nozzles), gun sound modules, retract sequencers, inner gear doors, tail retract, and planning to add tail gear doors.
It produces about 1200W, and weights 13lbs. It is very stable, and has enough power. I may try 7S battery at some point. Here's video:

My latest CARF Corsair build turned over to the owner at an event in North Carolina. This one is lacking surface detail that the owner is going to add.
Thank you to John the owner for the opportunity to work on another CARF Corsair, and to Dino for lending us his great piloting skills for the first flights.
Hope you all enjoy this.

Gary,
The Corsair looks superb both on the ground and in the air, and the radial engine gives it an even greater scale authenticity.
Thanks for posting it here, well done that man.

Here are some products we used and liked very much.
- Down and Locked electric gear conversion
- Down and Locked canopy drive
- Klass Cote paints
- Get Stencils nomenclature (most not yet applied but I have worked with Vikie on several projects and she is very helpful) paint masks and dry transfers
- Roto Flow fuel system
- Moki engines
- JR electronics
- Hitec 5685 programmable servos on the cowl flaps
- Electro Dynamics Nano battery systems
- Sierra gear
- Solo scale prop system
- Balsa Dynamics cockpit parts
- IFlyTailies cockpit parts
- Premier Pilots
- Aerofoil aluminum from Meister (under the paint on leading edges, the cowl nose, cowl flaps, hatches, and more)
- Miracle switches
- APS PowerFuel 380 electric fuel pump
- Prince RC aviation (my brother and I) mods for this plane which include the cowl dividing system with operational cowl flaps, the scale lighting system including all the custom lenses, the gun system, the canopy sliding system, all the custom hatches, the tail gear door system (no air), our custom scale stainless steel exhaust system, our stainless steel engine stand-offs
- tons of elbow grease.
Hope I didn't leave anyone out.

Douglas A-26B Invader
hi,
Here some pictures of my new project; The Douglas A-26B Invader, also from own plan, scale 1/5,9th, span 3,60m (142").
When I started the project, the estimated weight was 22kg (48Lbs), the engines were calculated for max. 23,6kg (52 Lbs).
The total weight up to now is 17,7kg (39Lbs), included; 2x engines- 20x servos- 6x batteries- 2x recievers, 2x PMS Plus (Engel Powerboxen)- 3x crewmembers.
Excluded; 2x turrets- 2x engine cowl- 1x nose cowl- details, and not to forget the Finish.
So there is room for 4,4kg (10Lbs) or max 5,9 kg (13 Lbs) for all these items, so that will not be problem at all!
Today I stopped the project and will continue in october, starting with making the mouldings for the turrets, cockpit. engine cowls, etc.
kind regards,
Jan

GBL, the P40 looks fine to me, the only aircraft that can ware the teeth in my opinion.
Dear All
We have been offered the use of Tibenham airfield Norfolk NR16 1NT,
for an impromptu D-Day 70th anniversary model event,
on Friday the 6th of June 2014, 10am until 6pm.
As it is such short notice, the event will be open to ANY model
and if people so wish we can have some mayhem slots.
As mentioned above, as this is short notice the agreement with the NGC at Tibenham is.
set fees of £10 per Pilot and £2 for spectators.
As usual there will a minute silence at mid-day for the fallen.
I really hope we get a good turnout for this event,
the 6th of June 1944 was a momentous day in history.
It would be really nice to commemorate D-Day at an historic WW2 airfield,
in a way only us modellers know how.
If you are able and would like to attend could you contact me by email please.
Thank you.
Regards Phil Goff
