Bob,
Thanks for posting your pictures here.
A very nice choice I might add, is the last picture an Air Cobra or a King Cobra?
I always have difficulty telling them apart.
Regards Phil G.

VE-Day scale model commemorative event
Dear All
At the eleventh hour we have been given permission to hold this event.
I am pleased to announce that we will be holding
A 70th anniversary of VE-Day Commemorative Event,
which will be an any Scale/Warbird/Jet meet at Tibenham Airfield on Friday the 8th of May 2015.
Scale Aerobatic will also be welcome, scale foamies are also welcome.
By kind permission of the Norfolk Gliding Club
Three (smooth) tarmac runways in various directions
As this is the first of three model events that are planned to be held at Tibenham
this year, this one is being run on a per head basis, as I did not think there would
be the support for three events.
I am very grateful to the NGC for allowing it to go a head on this basis.
Pilots £10
Spectators £2
There is no charge for overseas visitors.
A one minute silence will be held at midday for the fallen from all sides.
Proof of BMFA or LMA insurance will need to be provided on the day.
Food, Drink, Bar and Toilet facilities are available at the club house.
Hopefully we will get a bit of a turnout for this.
I am really pleased we are being allowed to hold it,
after all it was a momentous day in history.
Caravan and camping facilities are available at Tibenham airfield.
Thank you.

Dear All
Steve Rickett has signed up for this event,
below is a picture of his magnificent Boston.
I think you might agree it is a fantastic looking model.
My good friend Graham B. of Tiger models has also signed up for the VE-Day event.
A picture of his P47 Big Ass Bird, which he sold.
A big mistake that.
Regards Phil G.
PS. I am starting to get excited (steady).

Dear All
We are hoping to maiden Peter Reed's Ziroli Dauntless at the VE-Day event.
It has a Zenoah twin opposed 80cc engine for power.
It should go on that.
We must have a VE-Day Allied forces victory 'Balbo' slot.
Not forgetting the foamies,
WW1
WW2
Jets
Slots.

Just to let you all know Ali will be attending the VE-day
model event at Tibenham on Friday May the 8th.
It will be nice to see him again and witness his superb flying skills
before he finally departs these shores.
I have attached a picture of Ali flying his C17 at the former
RAF Coltishall in 2008.

Dear Brian
I am glad you like the pictures and the P51 was absolutely wonderful.
The sight and sound of it make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
We have something like 6 airworthy Mustangs in the UK,
Maurice owns 2 of them.
Thanks for taking the time to post on this thread.

The P40 was built from the Pica 1/5th scale kit.
It flies really well, the young lad who flies it does so in a scale like manner.
The only aircraft that can wear the teeth in my opinion.

Dear All
It is the 71st anniversary of D-Day, today the 6th of June.
The 6th of June 1944 was a momentous day in history..
We owe all those who took part a debt of gratitude that
we can never possibly repay.
When you go home, tell them of us and say
For their tomorrow, we gave our today.
Lest we forget.
Regards Phil G.

Greetings from Finland
Second part of Finnish Fighter Colours is now available
Together those two books give good picture of Finnish fighter action during WW II.
Photographs and colour drawings are grouped together so that it gives good reference for model builders who are looking little different painting schemes

Greetings from Finland
Looks Great
FR-98 was built in Finnish Aircraft Factory and was completed just before beginning of Winter War. During winter war it was piloted by sgt Lauri Nissinen, who scored with that plane 3 5/6 aerial victories. Nissinens total score was 30,5 before he was killed by collision with other Messerschmitt 17.6.1944.
At the beginning of continuation war plane belonged to Fighter sqn 32 and was piloted by ensign A Lakio.
15.7.41 plane was transferred to recce sqn 12 where it was piloted by ltn I Ritavuori. 13.8.41 ignition bullets started fire but Ritavuori was able to land and fire was extinguished.
It was overhauled by Karhumäki company during end of year of 1942 and it was back in business 6.1.1943. Plane was damaged in landing accident 20.5.1944 but repaired. After war plane was part of training unit and was removed from service 26.2.1945 and it logged 853 h 10 min and total score was 7 5/6 aerial victories

Dear All
I have been in contact with the BBMF today,
the Dakota is on for a 12:01 (local) three pass display.
It will close the short remembrance ceremony nicely.
John R. is due to attend with his EDF (Shubeler) MR. Venom.
Hopefully a picture is attached below.
Regards Phil G.

Dear All
I am extremely pleased, in fact I am shaking to inform you
that we will be receiving a flypast by the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team for 2015,
The Red Arrows. They are due to Flyover at 11:07 (Local) weather and serviceability permitting.
I have been trying for the last twelve years first at Coltishall and now at Tibenham
to get them to perform a flypast at one of my events.
Then out of the blue they contacted me this morning to say they will be flying over
on Friday the 10th of July at 11:07am (Local).
I was only talking to Kev (NSS) at the recent Fens event regarding
things I would like to achieve at my events.
1) Get a veteran to attend
2) Get the Lancaster to flyover
3) The Red Arrows to flyover.
Hopefully I will be able to cross one of those off very shortly.
Regards An ecstatic Phil G.
