This threads originator, Richard L., has not logged into RC Universe in over two years so there is a good chance you won't get an answer to your question. Anybody know what happened to Richard? After nearly 9000 posts it seems odd he would just stop completely. Hope all is well.

I had not seen Richard's page before Dave, thanks. Still, it seems odd that he would give up on RCU completely. Ah well, glad to hear he is still involved in the hobby and I wish him well.

Default Replacement canopy source?

An ancient thread ... but I'm hoping "dionysusbacchus" is still subscribed.
I pulled my red box F8F out of storage, and am hoping to find a source for a replacement canopy. Original is pretty yellow after 30+ years.
My e-mail provider has also changed... so PM doesn't work until I can get RCU webmaster to reset my password.
A reply within the thread will work...
;-)

I got my replacement from Mike a couple years ago.
He made a mold and was reproducing them.

Default F8F Canopy

Available from Parkflyer Plastics - quite reasonable, and good looking job!

Hey now , would you guys happen to have the outlines or the original plans for the bearcat ?? Dumb thumbs ( me ) forced a torque roll on an aborted landing and killed the fueslage !
I just need the outline of the fueslage formers.
I am trying to rebuild from plans because I really loved the way the plane flew !
Thank you and of course I would pay for copies, postage any expense incurred

Hey guys,

Got2retire here... I love a good challenge...

Here it is...

Bought a red box top flite f8f bearcat at a flea market ($15). Condition " salvageable, maybe"? Fuselage built, pretty well done... Wing, partially completed, not the best but salvageable...Canopy and cowling are there and good.. One wire landing gear...Some of the wood seems to be there, but beyond that, no plans or manual, so here's where I could use some assistance.

Plans seem to be available from aerofred and others,

Anyone with a manual, willing to scan it and Email it to me?

All my flying buddies have said, "trash it".... The gauntlet has been established...hahaha

thanks for reading, and any reply,

Got2retire (actually and finally) did

NCRC,
LDM,

Sometimes a blind hog finds an acorn....

Desperate to complete this plane for the aforementioned reasons, I took a real long shot. Called Horizon Hobby customer service hoping they could help, and help they did. After I explained what I was hoping for, the customer service guy put me on hold and just a few minutes later returned... he found a PDF file of the plans. He Emailed the file, Kinko's printed it and I'm on my way.

That being said, I'd be happy to send the same to either or both of you.

Reply with the Email info, and you'll get the file.
