NWHT / Devine Corsair
I've been working off and on on this Corsair for almost 3 years and I'm hoping to finally have the maiden this comming weekend. It has been a real challenge to scale it out, adding flaps, cockpit, sliding canopy, counter balances, radiators, guns and all the panel lines. I'll be sure to take plenty of photos before the flight and I hope to have a video after the fact. I'll keep you posted of the flight.
I still have a few things left to do but basically it's done.
Thanks to everyone who sent me several suggestions and advice on building it.

RE: NWHT / Devine Corsair
The weight should be about 21-22lbs. I weighed it after I took those pics and it was 20 lbs but I didn't have the wing servos, fuel tank, retracts servo, etc in, so once that is all in I think it should be around 22. I have a us 41 for it and it should fly scale like, I won't be 3-d this and to enter scale events I didn't want it to do mach 2 so it should be a good match. I bought the engine over 3 yrs ago and so that's what I had and I thought might as well use it.

RE: NWHT / Devine Corsair
Flight report from today.
I balanced it and ended up adding 2 lbs to the nose to get it to balance so final weight is about 24-25 lbs.
The US 41 just doesn't have enough power for this thing. The engine ran flawesly and I was more than impressed with it but it doesn't have what it takes. I have a ZDZ 40 kicking around that I might put in it and it's suppose to have 4.8 hp compared to the US 41 @ 3 hp.
Weather was windy and quite bumpy but after about 125' it took off. I made a nice shallow climb and pulled the gear up right away. Because of the wind it was really hard to get a good feel for it and I know with more power it will be better, it took several clicks of up trim to get it level, perhaps its a little nose heavy now, not really sure.
I made several laps just to get the feel of it but I didn't dare to do any rolls and loops were out of the question, then it came time to try out my flaps and I was very impressed with how well they worked and how much it slowed down. Landing was a bit bumpy but the wind didn't help much.
All in all with more power this could be a fun plane to fly, but it needs more power. Out of my 3 maidens this year, this is the only one I didn't have any problems with (except power) or I had to do any fixing on.

RE: NWHT / Devine Corsair
Last night I swapped out the US 41 for the ZDZ 40......it's a new plane! The ZDZ really made this Corsiar come alive and it flies great. I'll have video coming soon.
