I would like to be a member of the TF Giant Scale Corsair brotherhood. I purchased the kit, Robart retracts and fiberglass cowl. I intend to use a G-62 but not sure yet. I'm thinking about doing the Sky Boss #555 color scheme. I'm a slow builder so this will most likely be about a 4 year build. I have a few planes to finish before starting this one.
Welcome Steve!
I know you'll see a lot great building support on this site.

Steve: Run, Man, R-U-N!!!!! Opps, TOO LATE, now they "got" Ya! Noithin' looks sweeter on a low pass than a Corsair!! :-) Nope, I don't have one, BUT I do get to fly RT232's for him once in awhile! Whatever you do, put wash-out in the wing and do not let it be tail-heavy or it turns into a real "Snake" when landing. Otherwise its a GREAT flyer. See RT232 for details!

Thanks Guys, I'm looking forward to the build and flying the plane, it will be my first Warbird build. I have at Midwest AT6 that I did not build and have not flown yet but hope to this year. I'm putting a G-26 on that one. I got started in this hobby in 1990 took a few years off they got into it again because my son was interested. We have been flying together for about 4 years now and having fun.

Well finaly got my bird out had my chief test pilot make the first flight checke trims and such all good, so next flight was my turn got a clasic corsair take off and a great flight, nice loops ,rolls chandells and such, did not want to push my bad hands so set for landing every thing is looking good till about a foot off, to slow abit of cross wind and not rudder in quick enough dropped on right gear, now I hava a bit of repair to do.

So the morel is DON'T let your bird get to slow just befor tuch down.

Hey Deven's. Thanks for the pictures bird looks great.
You cheated and didn't do the panel lines. lol I've been thinking about doing that too. I just want to fly the thing allready.

Just use a Sharpy to put on panel lines. It's only a nights work and it looks better than nothing.
From +20 ft they actually can look better than the raised lines.
Remeber, if you don't like them you can always wipe them off.

I have 41/2yrs building this thing so panel lines were cut out. I have detailed trim tabs, simulated fabric cover outerwing panel, guns, scale m arkings =, fabric covered fight surfaces, scale gear doors, and hardpoints for bombs or fuel tanks. That was enough detail for the look I wanted. I will weather next winter after she flys a few sorties.

These pics are all from my basement where I am setting the CG. I will have an all up weight soon also. I also promise some nice outdoor pics with the sun lighting her up.

Nice photos!
Have you built up external fuel tanks, or napalm bombs for your pylons?
I am interested in putting a set on my next Corsair.

I bought a set of drop tanks for my Corsair last year. I'm looking up who on the 1/6th Scale Corsair thread made them for me.
Here's a link to another supplier for scale ordinance:

Brad also made some nice looking parts here:
