Steve that looks great, that said do you have the pilot figure yet, if not don't finish the floor as you may end up with some space problems . my pilot is a blue box and he was to tall to get him in, so I had to shorten his legs and with the fixed canopy no one ever knows

Thanks guy!
Yes Bob, I snagged a blue box off Ebay last year. I will have to do some surgery to him. I'm not paying too much attention to floor detail as very little of will be seen. Even though I am doing the sliding canopy. I'll just make sure my pilot ( Lt. Robert M Hanson) stay strapped in ready for action

thanks guys!

I spent today shaping square rod into control linkage for the boost tabs (non functional). I still have some more sanding on them but I got bugged eyed after awhile and quit for the day.. this took a lot of time.

Steve all I can say is what you are doing looks great. when I built mine it was my first attempt at stand way off scale, and if I were to ever build another it would be a lot different, for me it was a learning curve as my P-47 came out a lot different.
We still have hi humidity and rain thru this week in the forecast so still can't finish my bird

Keep up the great work guys

Today I covered the control surfaces with Solartex. I've never used Solartex before and it took a bit of getting used to but they turned out nice.
Question.. Do you guys prime Solartex before paint? I'm afraid of filling the weave and not looking much like fabric once it's painted.
thanks

Steve,
I don't prime it,I give it a couple of light coats and be done with it,
once you get used to using it you may never go back to anything else, this is the only covering I use.

Well I will add my 2 pennies worth as for priming solartex, a lot depends on what paint you will be using for color because I use Nelsons Paints from there warbird chart I do use a thinned lacquer base primmer but just enough to get the whole bird the same color. As that paint is a water base if you don't pay attention it can peal. so just go with what ever your choice of paint mfg say's is the best way.

Hi guy's just a flight report on my Giant Top Flite Corsair. I test flew it on Saturday June 4th. Zero trim corrections
were needed. The engine a RCGF 60 cc ran great 6500 to 6600rpms on a Falcon 23-8 prop. Landing was quick
or fast had 3 bounces but for the most part down in one piece. One wheel came off the other turned. The cowl
had come loose and was chewed up by the prop. I found one of the electric gear motors had been damaged but
was easy to replace. So it's repaired and ready for flight. John Taylor Corsair Brotherhood #96

Well if you rascals have an interest I am into 1/4 stand off scale super cub over on rcg in the fuel giant scale airplanes under the title Bashing a balsa usa J-3 to a super cub seems there are a lot of lookers but not to many posters, I am kinda following a master scale builders thread, but doing it my way.
It's has been a good learning experience and fun so far.
