Guys one last request. I have my new firewall made out of 9.5mm plywood and just want to confirm the center lines on the factory firewall. Can someone measure where the vertical and horizontal center-lines hit the side woods. The guy has what looks like center-line marks but just want to make sure.

Thanks

Got the DLE 55 installed and cleaned up the inside of the plane. Man he had wires everywhere and stuff place in all kind of places. Plane is still a little rough but way better than what it was. Wish I would have kept my original . The DLE 55 starts easy I think I might get a P-51 or try and find TF Staggerwing that I sold when I sold the P-47 and get another DLE 55 to put in it.

Now just need to take it up...

Sure will but have to relocate some of the electronics. I am still running old school 72 so I have to move the ignition battery and ignition switch by the ignition on the firewall. I also have to move the RX battery by the RX. I am getting interference that is causing fluttering. Just in case people say it no I am not upgrading to 2.4

Flew the plane today with the DLE55 and my modification to the firewall was pretty good. I need to add probably one washer to the top to give it a little down thrust.

The DLE55 is way overkill I wonder why the guy put it on the plane. I probably never went over half and probably 1/4 for normal flight.

Yeah, I would have put a DLE 30/35 in it and would have been happy. I do not know whey this guy put a 55 in it LOL. I had a OS160FX in mine and it was plenty and that was a 26cc. I am going to take out the DLE 55 and buy a Top Flite P-40 Giant Scale

With your DLE30 how did it balance? With the DLE 55 I had to move the battery under the servo tray and add 2.5oz lead to the tail + the guy has a tail wheel servo added to control the tailwheel which is probably another 1.5 oz in the tail.

Had to add nose weight to mine to balance it, roughly 3 pounds, but my notes are not with me so can't give exact. I added it right under the FW box.

Oh man!!!, yeah that sound about how I had to do with my OS160FX. I had a 4500mah battery on the firewall and about 24-36 oz of lead under it . I see now probably why he added the DLE55. Only requires 4 oz to the tail compared to the estimated 3 lbs you and I had to add to get the smaller engines to balance out

With mine and the DA 50 i did not have to add any weight....but i did glass my FW and coated the gas tank area with epoxy so im sure that added a few ounces.

Yeah I think the 50-55 will provide the best balance, but way overkill with power.

How much difference is there between the 150 and the second generation of the Razorback? I am almost ready to make a mold of the repaired cowl once I finish the filling a few more spots and putting the panel lines back in. The repaired cowl weighs quite a bit which would be good for balance, but would not last long, eventually the mounting holes would elongate and fail, so making a mold to copy it. Would the 150 cowl also fit the second gen?
