Mounting/aligning Mustang 50 (Fuji 50) Reduction Drive in Byron P-51
I've been refurbishing a beat up Byron Mustang that had the Mustang 50 version of the reduction drive w/ the 4-bladed prop. I've built many of these with the Q42 reduction drive, but this is my first one I've dealt with that has the Mustang 50. I'm wondering if the main drive shaft coming off the engine needs to aligned vertically with the prop hub as it is on the Q42 reduction drive (so you can see the drive pulley centered through the front cowl opening) when you mount it in the plane. The original builder of this plane has it set up with the drive shaft off center and the engine more towards the side of the plane. Anyone got any pictures of their Mustang or Fuji 50 setup that they can share, or experience with the Mustang 50 setup? THANKS!

Here's a picture of the offset I was talking about and a picture of the reduction drive unit itself for anyone who is interested in seeing it. The Mustang 50 setup is pretty cool with the enclosed tuned muffler rather than the straight header which is on the Q42 unit.
