RE: Hawker tempest plans
Vailly Aviation do a 96 inch wingspan which is very nice - designed I believe by Roy Vaillancourt with some very nice accessories such as a lovely cockpit kit.

Unitracts in the UK carries the Tempest plans and accessories by Sepp Uiberlacher (sp?) which, as I recall, are around 86 inches span. These are probably about as accurate a set of plans as you will find as well.

RE: Hawker tempest plans
Well I went with the vailly plans I got them just on christmas they look great I guess I have a lot of work ahead of me. One thing I noticed about the plans is that they dont show servo locations or mounting and linkage systems for control surfaces does any body lnow any sites of people who have built a tempest off these plans so I can get a few hints?

RE: Hawker tempest plans
I just aquired a hawker tempest kit, The Vailly design. I am need of a cowl and canopy if anyone has one laying around. I have to finish my P-47 and F-6F Hellcat before starting but would like to get the parts at a good cost if possible.
Thanks, Denny

ImpScale puts out plans for the Tempest. A little smaller than 90 at 82", but they are VERY nice plans:

RE: Hawker tempest plans
THIS Tempest thing is a real tough one . I have a blown up set of BT MK5 Tempest plans , its the 60 size brought up to
about 85 inch , I LOVE the BT CONSTRUCTION methods . There is a tempest 2 wing kit on kit cutters, but its the tem 2 wing,
which has an air intake on the starbord leading edge, the MK 5 doesnt have this, if i can use this wing it will save me alot of trouble.
, but i dont think i can . does ANYONE Know ? the imps are great , but to pricey for me . the sepp tempest is great , but the uk exchange rate will bury me.

I don't think the UK exchange rate is so bad now. You might take a look first.
I'm not so sure about IMP's plans. I have yet to see a model built from them and to me that says a lot.
You can get fiber glass fuse's now for Roy's planes. They are excellent!!

RE: Hawker tempest plans
Actually I realized I have a Typhoon kit, not a Tempest. I was hoping to be able to find the parts second hand at a reduced price. I traded for the kit and the retracts, I would never have been able to afford to buy what I have if it had been the full price from the manufacturers. The cowl and canopy will actually be cheap compared to the cost of the kit and the Sierra retracts, I have about $200 into the kit and retracts so if I have to buy the items from Vailly, it wont hurt too much.
Thanks for the help,
Denny

that is what I did, I got plans, canopy, spinner, cowl and tail fairings, dummy exhausts off Roy Vaillincourt and obtained the full wood kit from PCK.
Have ordered the scale retracts from Sierra and have a DA-85 sitting on the shelf.
