Default Happiness is a good wife

She played Santa and got me the new P-6E Hawk from G.P. Only problem is she forgot to open the front door before I got home and discover the UPS guy had delivered it. I arrived home to find a huge box on the front porch and asked her what it was (like I didn't know already)? She was a little upset that she could not pull off the surprise but it gave me a chance to give it a once over. Very cool arf! Feel sorry for some of you guys who have to disgiuse your air fleet from the spouse or S.O..

Mine has always been a supporter of my addiction in model aircraft. I too will hava a new bird under the tree, even though I have four on going projects now. God bless her.

Isn't it great when the wife turns round every so often as says "What do you want plane wise?", or "What do you want for your flight box?"

I love my wife

I have one of those wonderful companions. Always looking at the Tower catalog and saying, "do you like this?" Of course I have to respond with bling-bling and an occaisional new Jeep which she uses to bring me lunch a the field. Two way streets are a wonderful thing!!!!!

Mine has been great so far too! She wouldn't buy me a plane though, she won't even buy me parts for xams because she doesn't know what I want.

She did buy me parts one year, I made her a list, but then when I opened everything nobody knew what they were, "just little shiney pieces of metal" LOL but I was happy!

It is great to see that other fellow fliers have a wife that is very supportive. I'll have a Super Stearman under my tree.

I just mark what I want in the tower catalog and she picks and chooses for Christmas. I couldn't ask for a better flying companion.
How many of your wife's clean your planes after a flying session? Mine does. As I'm disassembling the planes and packing up she is spraying them off and wiping them down. Every other guy in the club is jealous.
Of course she knew what she was in for. Before we were married she was walking through bean fields with me to pick up the pieces to my crashes.
You just don't find women like her very often.
I think it's a Great Planes PT-17 from her this year.

There goes the airplane fund --- LOL

I too have a supportive wife -- although she will not buy anything for me RC related, she never questions when new ones show up, she just comments "so what did that one cost -- so I know how much I can spend" LOL

My wife is extremly supportive of my son and I flying and building. She comes to the flying field with us as well as the hobby shop. Not sure what is going to end up under the tree, but I know there will be something. I am a lucky man, Dave

Manfred,
My P-6e came Monday while I was in England. It still sits in the dining room waiting to be wrapped, but My spouse will not let me even look at the thing! That's ok, I held her present hostage as well. My spouse is real fond of surprises but she knows it's more practical to sometimes order your own present. I use the "Wish List" on tower and my wife knows my account info. She'll probably pick me up something from my list which will be a nice surprise!

I find I just have to make sure and set priorities and that keeps her happy!

R/C Report magazine printed a joke a couple of years ago that went something like: Have you ever changed the price on something AFTER you bought it but before you took it home? I laughed long and hard at that one!

I'm not sure I'd characterize my wife as a supporter of my hobby. She would probably say she is an enabler of my addiction to planes. . . .

Hey, my wife is the best. She lets me store some models in the bedroom and even goes to the LHS to pick up some glow plugs and fuel for me. So there....

I really feel sorry for anyone who isn't supported or for that matter supportive of a mate. I works both ways... I've been there 2 1/3 times, married I mean to unsupportive mates. Had to give up friends, hobbies, etc. It took me 30 years to find the right lady that not only supports what I like to do but that... That..... THAT....does my chores for me while I play. Later and GOOD LUCK, ken

ps we're not married and livin happily ever after....been together 4 yrs of bliss!

That's nothing. My wife makes me sleep with my airplanes!
