The big Hellcat is 1/6 scale and I plan to have a tank for it. Actually, I already made a 1/6 scale tank but it was too big for me to vacuum form so I sent the plug to a vacuum forming company that agreed to offer them. Not too long after that they went out of business and I don't know what happened to the tooling! This time around I'm thinking of making them out of glass instead of vac formed.

Mirce - I have spent countless hours on your site reviewing your work to inspire and help along the way . I put 7 hours into outer wings wing which is 7000 rivets and here is final product before paint ...and I only did main lines not all actual rivets but it gives the surface so much more realism . I did work the air bubbles out after these pics

Surface with so much details need a lot of time and patience, but at the end, model look great.
Big different will be after painting, than, surface come in one color and details will not be so visible, not at the first sight.
Observer will see that something is on the surface but need more care to check all details...
Wipe surface with alcohol before applying rivets and detail. If you have bubbles use pin for puncture...
Good work...
Regards

Hello att,
yes it's little heavier, but model will fly nice. My first Hellcat was 22,5 kg (49,5 pounds) and with Evolution 80 GX it fly very nice. Model need little more space for take of, but in the air F6F was great flying model.
On my second F6F I take care about weight and model was about 18,5 kg (41 pounds) and that was great model. Honestly no much different between first and second Hellcat, except take off.
Second Hellcat (yellow) have Zenoah GT 80 for power...
On take off I use flaps about 10 - 15 degrees, that help... In the air model is very stable, it can be flown with half throttle and on landing I used full flaps, but need small throttle until ground.
That is my experience with this model... I fly it with big pleasure...
Wish you luck on maiden flight...

Where can I go to have some one make me 2 sets of these exhaust????? PLEASE... Please.... Help me in getting these!! I have one model almost done with a GT-80 and one still in the bones. I would be willing to pay a fair price for them. So can you or anyone help me in getting 2 sets???? Thank you very much for the time!!
Mrice, here is a pic of one side of my exhaust. Sorry for not posting sooner but I waited till I was going to do some work. 1- I wanted to see how things were looking like checking the bolts or anything coming loose. 2- I was ready to install a C&H electronic ignition conversion on the motor. I have converted my 3 G-62's with his kits and the result has always been great. Ran the engine after the install and the idle was stable and much lower. I forgot to put the tach on it but I could almost count the prop as it ran. Will see how it goes in the air maybe next week.

Problem with making scale exhaust is that, someone who made it need fuselage and engine on it. That is only way to get scale exhaust on right position.

Mirce,
We have the same model and same engine....
If YOU will make me 2 of the same, that you made I will do what I need to do to make them fit!
In other words.... Build the model AROUND the scale exhaust. I have done this before so I won't have
a issue or problem with it. Just need 2 the same as you built, PLEASE......
CHEERS!

Hello Garry, unfortunately I can't made that scale exhaust for your model. As I told, I need to have model to made 100% precise scale exhaust.
In mean time, few months ago, I sold my Hellcat so I haven't any template to take down measures...
When we work on exhaust, my friend who work on it, made first two round parts with five pipes. Than, that parts was fixed on fuselage. After that, from Krumscheid pipes we made curves from engine to exhaust pipes on the model. In the middle, to connect those two segments I use teflon tube.
Exhaust work fine, engine don't not losing power, but t was little louder. Here in Serbia that is not a problem but in USA...
