Hey Guys,

This Typhoon was online just before Thanksgiving. I looked at it over and over several times, and sent in an question. I got online later that night and I guess it had expired. I got an email from the seller Rich Morgan from England. After I emailed him back giving him my number, he called me and we discussed it. I bought the plane and paid through paypal. That was Thanksgiving Day. He told me it would go out the following Monday. I've never shipped or had an airplane that size shipped to me from England, but I would figure it would be here by now. Maybe not. The alarming thing is that I've emailed him several time and nothing. Does anyone remember this plane, and/or do you know Rich or ever worked with this guy. He is either a really nice gentleman, or a great scam artist. Any help out there will be great.

PS, this is EXACTLY why you should do everything through RCUnivers and not email to email.

You should have a recourse through PAYPAL! Check with them. They have guarantees. You can also report it to the British police. In the USA this has been done with success.

if YOU payed for this plane, you are screwed. Mr. Morgan has been banned from
this site. I know another gentleman that payed for this same plane, same thing,
screwed.

there are 2-3 other guys here that got scammed by him

PJ, have seen other issues over here with a gentleman of the same name, I would contact him soonest and try and get it sorted, if it is the same guy you have been scammed.

I hate to break the news to you but... YOU'VE BEEN SCAMMED!!!! You are the 3rd person who has bought the very same plane. I t has all ready been delivered to the other person who actually paid for it along with myself and you. PM me with you e-mail address and I will forward you the contact info for the Cambridgeshire police with whom you will want to add your complaint info to mine and others. We are working to get this guy arrested. The only recourse you will have thru paypal is that they can seize any funds he would deposit in his account, but you and I both know he won't be doing that.

And I've had RCV (Gr Britain) send a starter adapter that took three DAYS to get to me in Toronto. No telling how long these things take. Couple o'months tho does seem too long.

I've had dealings with Mr Morgan here in the UK.

Luckily I gave him a visit before parting with any cash.

You have been Scammed.

I have filed a report with the police to help with the investigations.

I strongly suggest you take action immediately with Paypal to get you money back, or take it further with the Cambs police.

People like this make me sick,and ruin a good thing for rc modelers,i'd love to get my hands on him![:@]good luck,maybe the police might step in,if they dont others will pay the price,if not here at other sites.They need to have stricter laws when it comes to trading online,ive been screwed myself twice,i actually recieved the product but in both cases it was not what was offered for sale.Sorry to hear about your misfortunes,i am also a cigar enthusiast and trade often online and know of people that have been screwed for thousands so dont feel to bad.

Thanks to everyone who sent in post/emails/and PMs! Yes, this makes me sick to, but at least its good to know I have friends out there and accross the pond who will look out for me and others! It looks as if we are going to have to work together to see anything come out of this. I have delt with this hobby and the people online here and rcscalebuilder for a long time and I can say that this is the first "bad egg" that I've come by. If anyone has any more information, please post. THank you RCU for keeping this up! Maybe we can save some other sole from making the same mistake I and others did!

Still building, still flying, and yes, still buying and selling!

There has been alot of coverage on this guy in the UK, and his activity here slowed down for a few months. However it is a small world in the UK and very easy to stop someone in our small community. However he has started to get active again and reports are coming over the forums again.

However the States has alot more modellers than us, perhaps he sees it as an easy market and he won't get "visited" quite so often.

Be warned guys and make sure you let every forum you go on know.

PJ, I always pay Pay-Pal with my Visa. That way if you can't get satisfaction from them the bank card people will investigate and very often they will remove the charge. I hope they lock this guy up.

Well,

I got the exact same response that you did scalebirdman, but I emailed him and we have been talking. I didn't want to post anything until I knew he was real. He told me that he has sent the check. I asked him for a routing number and I haven't heard anything from him. Now that was only Sunday that I asked, so we'll see. And as for someone to visit him. I have all of his information. I'm holding one card on that. I have a pretty good friend there who is so pissed at what is going on and is actually excited to "pay him a visit". But, lets just see what happens here first.

that is really a low act. 2 things in your favour, you paid by paypal and you paid paypal via your credit card. Both paypal and the bank should be able to reverse the charges.

Yes you did get scamed as many of us did. Old Rich got me good but I did get him back. And let me tell you be glad you did not get the typhoon. Ed did get it (finally) from Rich and it is about 14" shorter in wing span than advertised and no tail feathers. Ed said it needs some much work and so much scratch building to be done on it now it is going to take months to complet. I have filed a case with the cams pd if you want my file # to contact them I will gladly give it to you hopefuly get this guy thrown in jail. It is a damn shame that some people make it hard to trust others.

Well, I sure would love to see the plane built and flying. We have all had money in it and would love to see the finished product!!!

Just an update. Please don't laugh too loud, but he told me he sent my check in the mail a little over a week ago. I'm giving him two weeks to get my check to me. We'll see. I'm still trying to find the good in people even thought it is getting harder every day! I'll keep you all in touch!
