Thanks Todd
Its going to run an OS .46VF rear exhaust, with ahome made extension on the shaft to place the engine in the oil cooler and keep it out of site. The retracts are the EZ mech types with a very slow retract servo.
Note the tropical filter i'm working on.

Too bad the Polk radio system totaled your P-40 Saturday.. I'll take mine out of the P-51, i was lucky the signal hit was much shorter on mine.
You know, I may send mine back for a physical as well.
haven't had radio problems for so long with JR., I thought it was a thing of the past.
I guess maybe you get what you pay for. Shame

That is gorgeous! Is it a kit or a scratch build? More info on the plane would be greatly appreciated, as I don't have a lot of the tools required for scratching, but would love to get one of these in my hanger!

Hi
I'ts not really a production model and we don't get as much time to build / fabricate as much now days. We do this only for fun and the challenge of design. This one took me six months to get the time and motivation to start on from layup to this point you see.
The model originated as a group project from years ago. We had fabricated the model, then made the molds. Then, it was in storage for years. I was fired up by the chinese 109E I saw here and thought, let me lay one up.
It is 50" span all composite airframe, mine has an OS .46vf engine and comes in at around 5.75 lbs. cg'ed ready to go with mechanical retracts. The scoop is composite, headers and scale hubs are resin

Beautiful 109 Steve. The F Tropicals had some really nice schemes. Marseille's is one of my favorites. Is your wing composite too? Any estimate of all up weight yet?
