I haven't been updating this thread too much so here's a few pics from last week.
Cal Branton's Fiberclassics Spitfire - 3w-80 inline up front and WABO gear. Flies just great. It's painted up very similar to mine. I think the main difference is my squadron codes are grey and Cal's are white. I'll attach a pic of both, although only Cal's was out last week. I actually was flying mine down at the Owatonna warbird fly-in and ended up selling it to Bruno Nary from Denver. It's in good hands now with Bruno. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Cal also had his Meister 190 out.
Kirk brought out the tired old Yellow Jug. He used to run a G-45 but switched to a G-62.
I had my old Ziroli Corsair and Jeff Q. brought his yellow Spitfire.
Stay tuned for tomorrow.....I think we'll have a Yellow P-38 in the air.

This may have been the best weather we've had this year on a Tuesday night. Clear skies, light wind out of the west and a lot of people out flying.
Wayne brought out his old Mammoth Model's AD-1 Skyraider. All built up, 120 inch wingspan. Had ignition problems and couldn't get the engine dialed in.
Cal flew his Yellow Aircraft P-38 lightning. I think this was Cal's first P-38 and he flew it very well. It was previously flown on G-38's but now has Brison 3.2's with one counter rotating. Nice flight Cal!
Cal also brought out his combat models F-16 pusher.
Mark P. was flying his Byron Corsair. Quadra 52 up front.
Opie brought out a Stinson Reliant. This plane has a lot of history. Built years ago by Jess Larson. OS 160 twin (glow burner) on ignition. It will idle around 400 RPM. Beautiful flyer......
Wayne Siewert was flying his Ohio RC Dehavilland Chipmunk.
Phil brought out his Meister 109. It's the smaller one with a G-38.
There was 3 TF Giant Mustangs as well out. Didn't get pics though.

I had my trusty old Ziroli Corsair with me may she RIP. I've had so many uneventful flights on this plane without so much as a ding that it was "bought and paid for" many times over. She finally decided to fly West on me. I was coming in from the East straight and level when it apparantly just lost signal. She rolled inverted and went down at a 45 degree angle from about 200 feet. Just before impact it rolled right side up (on her own as I had absolutely no control at this point) and hit the ground hard. The fuselage was at least 100 feet beyond the initial impact point. The right wing panel was found a few hundred feet to the north and the left wing was literally balsa dust. Nothing left bigger than a few square inches of that wing panel. Batteries were checked immediately after and all 3 packs were above 5 volts under load. So this one will be listed as cause unknown for now. She was a great flyer and it was a spectacular crash. Someday I'll have another Corsair, but for now I've got a Spitfire, Seafury and Bearcat to finish......

The only regret I have about the Corsair going in was that you didn't get to see her go in Jeff......ha ha ha.
Here's a few more pics. Pictures were taken by a friend that I work with Henning Christie.

Beautiful weather this evening. Light winds out of the north and sunny skies.
Wayne flew his 120 inch Skyraider. All built up, with a modified Horner twin with Sach's heads on it. RTF weight is 46.5 pounds wet. Really a very nice flying AD. Hope to buy this one down the road when Wayne get's tired of her.
I brought out my new David Boddington Hawker Hurricane to run the engine. It has an 88 inch wing span and weighs 26.5 pounds. It's a built up fuselage with foam core sheeted wings. I'm still in the painting and weathering stage so the gear were still taped off and doors not installed yet. The front canopy frame is not a good fit and will have to be engineered to fit. Still thinking on that one......The engine started right up and is a smooth runner. Even though it is on the heavy side, it should be a great flyer. If anyone has the correct CG for this plane I'd love an email. I'm guessing at 25 percent MAC and would like to be sure before it fly's.
Dave K. had out the Don Smith Mustang. I don't remember the span but think it's around 112 inch. Quadra 100.
Cal brought out his Meister 190. He's flown so many different RC planes over the last 20 some years of RCing and swears that this is the best flying warbird he has ever owned. And he's owned A LOT!
Jeff Q. and his 110 inch Seafury. 3w-140 up front. He's got it all dialed in now and say's it fly's as good as his old one.

Hey Ryan,
I'm sure the 190 will be back in Denver. Did you pick a scheme for yours? I'm FINGERING that we will have a larger group of guys out there this next year. Ha ha ha......
Here's a few pics that Henning sent me of Jeff's Seafury and Cal's 190 from last night.

Dave, believe it or not, I found the same scheme that's on Cal's Wulf about 2 years ago and saved it in a file that I have for the Wulf because I was planning on doing it on a model.....go finger, huh? Who know's what it will actually end up being painted, though....

Hi Ryan, Thx...the pins are gone, but notice the grimmace on my face as I pump fuel in to the fury (no, I was not grumpy this night). Finger is doing well, but being unsupported (see no pins), just the weight of the finger hurts a bit still. I'll get over it tho. I kept the pins, and may put them up for auction to help defray medical expenses. I finger I need all the help I can get.

Jeff, make a throttle knob out of one of the pins on your next giant warbird cockpit.......should be about the right scale....

Another next to perfect evening here in Minneapolis for some warbird flying. Light wind out of the north and temps in the high 60's.
Cal brought out his Proctor Nieuport 28. OS 160 twin up front. He let me take a few laps with her and it ended up in the back of my suburban. Looks like this will be my first WWI bird. I hear Jeff got his hands on one as well, so next week we can do a little dog fighting
Tom brought out his new Meister FW190. If it looks very familiar, it should. I bought it from Rich Eggleston, sold her to Cal, and now Cal sold it to Tom. I don't know why this plane is changing hands so much because it's hands down one of the best flying warbirds out there. I would have bought it back if I knew Cal was parting with it.....
Wayne brought out his 120 inch Skyraider again. Newly re-engined with a quadra 100 and it flies great.
Dave K. showed up with a 120 inch SB2-C Helldiver. Quadra 100 for power. He did a very nice couple of flights with it.
Kirk brought out his Roamin Research Mig-3. 101 inch span and 3w-80 inline twin for power. It easily does 130 mph if not more. Too bad we didn't have a radar gun with us.

A few more pics from tonight.......
Jeff brought out his new (to him) Focke Wulf Ta-152. 140 inch span with a quadra 75. This was built years ago by Ty Brown. When Jeff bought it, it had one flight on it ever. He's had it a few weeks and has over 20 already. It's a great looking and flying plane. Comes in at just over crawl speed. I'll probably end up with this one down the road as I'm partial to the long nose FW's. Jeff likes the short one's.
I brought out the Dave Boddington Hurricane. I decided to re-engine it with a G-45. It flew previously on the G-38, but after getting the cg right, I needed more lead up front. It comes in around 28.5 pounds as it sits and I thought the 45 would give her a bit more vertical. I wasn't planning on flying it tonight, but got talked into it. I was planning on selling it, and didn't want to wipe her out, but I thought I may as well see how she flies. I guess I can wipe it out as good as the next guy can. Anyway, she flew great. I brought her in hot but as soon as the mains touched, she stuck to the pavement. Definitely a good flying solid plane. I ordered the front canopy from England today and as soon as I install it, she's off to Cal's house. Can anyone keep straight who own's what? We're always swapping something.
I thought I'd add a few pics of the F-117. On my last trip we were taxiing out of St. Louis and the ground controller told us to look up and see our tax dollars at work.

Winter is just around the corner here and the building season will soon begin. Winds were out of the northwest about 15-20 early and dying down late. Temps were in the low 50's. It felt like it was in the 30's......guess I need to put on some more weight or something because I was cold!
Jeff maidened his Balsa USA Nieuport 28. Great flyer with a G-26. I had some technical difficulties with my new Proctor Nieuport 28 so she was grounded. I did run the OS 1.60 twin and it's a great engine. This is my first 4 stroke engine ever. I love the sound and it idle's nice and low. Cal broke the mold bringing out a non-warbird, but it was so nice I thought I'd include it here. Stinson with a G-26, scaled out cockpit, full rib stitching and tape. Beautiful plane!

I tried to edit the title of the thread to reflect the new season but it won't let me, so we'll start the 2007 season here.
Dave K. brought out his 120 inch Helldiver. New single cylinder engine but I don't remember the size. Might be a 7.3 whatever it is, it's big.
Wayne G. with his 120 inch Skyraider. Mamouth plans all built up. Quadra 100 for power.
John C. with his new Ziroli Beech. G-38's for power. Just running the engines. Will maiden it this weekend.
Cal B. with his new Jerrry Bates Dauntless. G-62 for power. The pics don't do it justice. As scaled out as you can get. He flew it for the first time tonight.

Cal also brought out his new Meister 109. It's the smaller one at 85 inch span. G-38 for power. Nice flyer. He let me take a few laps with it. I think this one was built by PJ.
Jeff Q. with his Frankenschmitt Me-109. 102 inch span and a G-62 for power. He rebuilt it this winter after a major accident last summer. Put three shakedown flights on it tonight and it's flying as good, if not better than before.
I brought out a 30 foot or so stand off scale Mustang. It's a Top Flight ARC that was somewhat of a basketcase. It weighs 20 pounds RTF with a G-38. I flew it for the first time tonight and it fly's pretty good. Not a rocket but flies very scale like. This will be my Tuesday night "beater". Won't be worried about flying this one in the rain.
Tom S. brought out his Yellow Jug. DA-50 power. Built a few years ago by Carey Hook. Nice flyer....
