Rob, I am reconstucting the wildthing 2 and putting in a rossi 45 with nitro pipe. This baby should move at 3 lbs.

Today I will finish up the painting on the P51 and hopefully tomarrow I will panel line and feather the lines with a air brush.

Crissy saw it yeasterday fro the first time and I got big wow out of her so it must look good... lol

Well friend get well and come over so we can paint you saber... Lets panel line it with 1/16 tape and then primer it. hey do you have a color scheme for it yet?

Default Gotta love T/F

Thats a great looking Mustang! how many hours do you think you got into it? If remember right i think i had 250+ hours into my T/F .60/1.20 size P-51 I have done many of T/Fs warbirds and have to say they have one of the best if not thee best build up kits out there! I have also owned their P-40E and my dad has owned the P-51s (and Giant Scale) as well as the P-47. We have had great luck with the way they build and fly, matter a fact i have another .60 size P-51 on the bench as we speak good luck with it im sure you will love it!

well I am finished painting now today I will panel line and air brush some age and weathering and war scars..lol

StregaMustang7 this has been an ongoing project over the last 5 years. Vic patterson built this bird I finished it all though we have probably a combining 250 + hours on it I have at least 30 to 40 hours in the paint job its just been a on and off project over the last 5 years. I needed to finish this bird for other project that I have on going to like the Mig 25 FOX BAT and second Hotspot I have 30 % completed...

BirdofpraY,

Like your Stang. When I do silver, and try to accent panel lines I've found that a little is a lot. All I do is add a little black to the silver, mask the panel line with paper and electical tape and spray VERY lightly. Here is a few pictures of the effect on my Royal P-51:

wow, that is more time then i'd want to spend but you have done a very great jog and it shows! but i guess if you think about it over the 5 years 500 hours really aint that much so thats about right i guess. I would love to see that plane in real life cuz i believe pics doesnt do it any good cuz there is alot one misses when viewing pics none the less tho you have done a awesome job!

dionysusbacchus, is that the same P-51 you posted in another thread with the gear doors ? again very awesome job!

I have a question for ya guys, My 3W P-51D has panel lines/ribits already on the airplane from 3W. my question is how do make those stand out once i get it painted ? I know T/F use to make a planel line pen but im not sure that will last long ? Any ideas? Thanks!

again great job guys!!

to get the panel line pen to last just use CLEAR COAT.

if the panel lines are molded into the glass you wont need to do anything else~

Nice looking model. How much does it weigh and what do you have in it for power.

Thanks,
Ed

it weigh's right at 31 lbs and for power it has supertiger 4500 with onboard glow. I thought it would never fly with that much weight but it proved me wrong it flew more scale than I have ever imagine. it was one of the most beautiful fly P-51's I had ever seen. Trim was one click of up and two clicks of left... Vic you build streight and I balanced perfict..
