What do you do with surviving scale bits ( instrument panels, other cockpit details, scale wheels & U/C legs etc ) when your warbird meets an untimely end? Do you pass them on, sell them or keep as a momento of your efforts?

I rarely throw anything away. Even little scrap pieces of balsa have come in handy for a patch here and there. Plus there is always somebody on RCU needing a canopy or cockpit , etc, etc, etc for a new build. If it weren't for the guys here on RCU sending me spare parts I'd never get one of these kites off the ground. LOL

If I'm going to build a smilar plane, I keep them. Otherwise, I sell them at a swap shop. Of course, if they're damaged, I throw them away.

I saved the nose art /side of the cowling off my "Little Freddie" P-51D and also the National Insignia and Plane ID #....
I am going to make a small shadow box with a picture of the plane in the background and the "nose Art etc " will be mounted in it for display.....
so...I am a little artsy .....

I keep it all unless crushed, splintered, fuel soaked or unrecognisable.
I have got a seperate, special box with all sorts of stuff.
Had to look three time before I found a retract I was after for my Mustang build.

Brad.
