I received two ARF's with damage boxes, but was lucky that the poor packing inside allowed the
contents to move away enough to prevent any damage. How are you handling the replacement
of the broken plane? It would be of help to know what one is to do when receiving packages
damaged like this. I suspect you were not home when these boxes were delivered.

My experience with UPS has been just the opposite. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that UPS has delivered to me in the past five years has been damaged. If someone ships anything to me via UPS they can expect it back as I will not accept it, damaged or not. They do not pay their damage claims either, saying it was improperly packaged. Why can't they admit "it was improperly handled"?

I have not identified the Carrier yet. I am waiting to see what is to come of the claim. I raised so much cane the day I got it that they had a local supervisor call me. He said I don't know why I am calling you but I was told to. He said he could do nothing about the claim himself. I have had pretty good response so far. It usually take 4 weeks to settle a claim if they are work fast...I can buy replacement parts for most of the damage, but I didn't buy a damaged plane. I'll keep you posted....

In the past I have always had good luck with UPS, but... on my last ARF a 30% Edge they crushed one of the wings.
The supplier sent me a replacement wing via Fedex and it showed up crushed too.
The third one via UPS did make it.

Good thing the engine was backordered and it didn't slow me down too much.

I have had packages damaged most all shippers, FedEx, UPS and Forward Air. Not by USPS yet. FedEx was the least hassle to settle claim. Very fast.

I had a poorly packaged 1\5 h9 p-51 shipped from the east coast with the wing assembled,it made the trip intact,(ups),i was impressed ,usps uses fed-ex for most express shipping, and commercial airline carriers,to fill the void, but the writing on the wall says this will change at midnight 6-30-06 when united airlines( usps's largest carrier )ceases to accept mail until further notice, plus over the loooong holiday weekend with limited staffing expect some SERIOUS backlogs, of course, thats what's written on the wall, I'll stick with UPS

I've had good results with USPS while UPS is so-so and FedEx is the pits. FedEx "lost" a very expensive David Clark headset so I'll never use them for anything. And there was a tracker too!

FedEx
I send one time a package (Intel SS7 blade) from Prague to Latvia.
It shut takes 3 days. After 5 days I looked at the tracking and guess what - it was in Anchorage Alaska...
Then it flew to Moscow Russia and finally to Latvia.
It tooks 14 days.
Why do it easily

what was written on the wall,is now etched in stone, ups, and usps have inked a 3yr air carrier contract deal, virtually eliminating most contract commercial carriers.gee, i hope they purchased the 5 dollar software program that comes with the deal...[:-] we should start to see this thread come alive[:@] as i don't believe they can handle it...[:'(]

Well,
I'll finally tell you who the carrier of my boxes was. It was DHL. I have been shipping with them for a while now and they are the cheapest way to ship right now and they also will let you ship things larger that UPS. They finally settled my claim today and they are replacing everything that was damaged. I am very pleased. Yes it set me back a little on time but thats OK. I will continue to Use DHL. I can usually have them pick up packages from the house and ship cheaper than if I dropped them off at the UPS counter....

Ty may I ask what kit that is ? the interior looks good and well built . As far as carriers I have found a few interesting things regardless of the shipping company
1)seller has kit in original box , bubble wrapped with spacers provided by interior cardbord dividers
2)Original box is then placed into thick corrogated outer box that seem to provide another 1" of exterior protection
3)Box is labeled fragile with red/white day glow stickers

Price paid by me to the sellers for this large box to be shipped ranges from $35 to $45
all delivered by UPS and damage free
