RE: Moki 210
Please take a look at http://www.remekmotorok.net/ for the Moki, $275 for the 210 INCLUDING shipping,
These engines run fine on FAI fuel or great on 5% nitromethane. I cannot see the need to use 10-15% nitro when they run great on 5%. Also, IMO, some castor in the fuel is better than not. A blend is okay, but I would not leave out the castor long term. Actually to run on higher nitro, a hotter plug would work well and you might even have to increase the piston to head distance to even be able to burn it completely. If you think about it, this engine was designed to run on FAI fuel. The 5% nitro gives just a little more power, a reliable idle and good throttle response and I would recommend 5% nitro as first choice. The old fuel mixing dinosaur.

Your right on Dino, these engines run great on 5% or 0% nitro.I use 0% on mine and they start with just a back flip on the spinner. There is no need to run any nitro unless you are flying during winter conditions or at high altitudes.Mine run great on 0 % or maybe 5%.The idle is always very low and consistant.Like I said before,if you use 10 or more % nitro your engines life will be shorter.Follow the manufactures instructions.Tom

RE: Moki 210
Fuel Dinosaur,
The link to Moki / Mark engines is a real find! I have been pulling my hair out trying to locate parts, o-rings and the like for months. Add to that a Moki 2.10 for $275 shipped to the states and this site quickly turns into a gold mine. I just hope they sell to individuals like me. I've already sent over my wish list of replacement parts.
Thank you!!!!!!
Al

RC,is the engine broken in??Try bench running it with a glow starter on and run it rich untill it runs reliable. Then start to lean it out[only if it is already broken in] a little. Also check your low speed adjustment. The mark should be centered and check the "O" ring also.Tom

RE: Moki 210
My 2 cents on the Moki 2.10. I run a 20x10 Menz and also a 22x8. I've had great success running Powermaster FAI (0%) and an OS Type F plug, as well as a Fox Miracle (cause I had 'em on hand). Plug and fuel I wouldn't change, but the 22" slows down the plane better than the 20x10 did, for obvious reasons. Break it in with a few GALLONS of fuel, and make sure it's plenty wet when you start it.
"Moki too dry, you will not fly..."
For the weight, this engine generates 4.95hp, which is pretty unbelievable. I think there's plenty of satisfied Moki users here on line, and you shouldn't have any trouble getting an opinion about how to run it or answers to other questions.
Last plane was a H9 80" Cap 232 (Alitalia version) which was sadly lost 2 weeks ago due to servo malfunction. [>:]
Feel free to ask anything else that you'd like to know, I'll help if I can.

Hey Tom, love that new scheme on the mustang. Looks great!!! Speaking of moki's I found a brand new never run Dave Patrick 1.8 on Ebay and installed it on my mustang, boy does it run good. And with the lower compression my dynatron starter can turn it. Plus I like the fact that I don't have to buy seperate fuel just for this plane anymore. I just wish that this engine was still available now. As far as power goes I don't think that there is a huge difference in this 1.8 and my old moki 2.10 I'm running the same 18x12 prop and it is pulling it pretty good. I would say maybe only 5-10% less power, but this engine is still working on the 1st gallon so it's running pretty rich, but the idle is great as well as the transition . Didn't you pick up one of these DP engines Tom?

RE: Moki 210
Hi is that all the moki 1.8 instructions??
Can you post more?
Is there any info on the low needle disc. I don't understand if is simalar to a conventional low needle where it can be wound fully out or in. Does the disc just opporate in ONE 360' arc?
Thanks

Hi again Mike.No I didn't by a DP.I just got an other Mark 210 to put in my "Big Beautifull Doll that was shot down a while back.I have 2- 210's and a 180 mark/moki that I have in a H9 P47 that I've flown for a few years.I really like these motors.
MK1 the low needle disk is on the left side of the motor and no you don't turn it 360.If it is set at 0 that is just fine.At the very most you might have to turn it one notch either way but no more.Once you get used to these engines they will purr like a kitten. As a matter of fact I have never[5yrs] had to touch the low end disk on either of my moki's.If you are mounting them inverted, just make sure you don't flood them.I usually take the glow plug out and clear it then back in and one or two back flips is all.I'll try to scan the rest of the instructions for you.Tom
