RE: My new Ziroli 98" P-51 build
Hi all,
I just got off the phone with Darrell Tenny of Sierra giant scale gear, Another guy I give a 100% on my scale!! he is sending the tail gear for the stang so I will be able to finish up the fuse
soon. I worked lastnite and got all the wing ribs printed on the ply and balsa and Monday I will
cut all the parts out. Work is going kinda fast on the P-51 Nick Ziroli did his homework on the
stang plans, making it easy to just build build build!!! I will post more pic's soon.
Regards,
Dan Crawford

Dan here are a few pictures I am using to set up a sliding canopy on the P-47 we are working on. I dont know if it will work on your mustang but they might give you some ideas.

Ron,
I would love to have a working canopy but it is a pain in the but.
I don't think mine will be slidding. your pic's are cool.

RE: My new Ziroli 98" P-51 build
Nice color combo with the aluminum. I have found that you dont have to get too fancy with colors after the planes have be aluminum plated, the lines of mustang will more defined after its polished up[8D] I will keep this picture on file. Dan the paint work on that cowl is going to be alot easier the P-47 I'm working on.
Any pictures of the wing yet?

Here are a couple more really nice pics but in these the squadron codes have been replaced with Oregon Air National Guard markings.

Dan,
I live about 45 Minutes from Evergreen aviation museum. I'd be happy to have an excuse to go down there and take some pictures for you.
I think I actually have some photos of this one at home. I'm not sure of the quality though. I'll try and rememember to take a look this evening and post them for you.

RE: My new Ziroli 98" P-51 build
Dan the pictures that Kent sent you are FANTASTIC!! nice detail and good resolution. I noticed that there is a panel that must be stainless steel where the exhaust port exit. I first came across this with Greg's F-86, the gun port panel were not aluminum on the fullscale, they were stainless and we have a metal that we use that is a perfect match for stainless. I'm making notes on details like this so that when its time for the plating process you can let me know if its something you would like me to do. I got your E-mail and we are waiting patiently for more pictures

Dan,
Here are the pictures I have on file for the Michael Smith P-51D located at Evergreen Aviation museum. Some of them are not the greatest as I recall the lighting being quite challenging that day. Anyway, I'll try and get down there in the next few weeks and see if I can get a better selection.

Dan I cant believe how fast your build this mustang [X(] you must be putting in alot of time but if your like me, time seems to stand still when I'm working on project that are fun. We are enjoying the pictures and watching your mustang go from sticks to beauty. Its a rewarding feeling that one can only achieve by building from scratch. Very nice work.

Hi all,
I want to put my elevator servos in the stabs, has any one done this?
I think it would be better than using push rods in the fuse. a nice short link to the elevator.

Dan Crawford
