Well - just returned from a trip to the islands. Time to start again. Here's proof of some work being done. Shows bottom sheeting of outboard wing 1/3 and hatches with servos installed for ailerons and flaps. Someone asked - i am using sig titebond (white) on the edges and ca to glue to ribs etc.

RE: My new Ziroli 98" P-51 build
Hi I'm not trying to be a damp squib here, but is it really appropriate to continue this thread in its current capacity as it was Dan's origionally, don't get me wrong I want it to continue but can someone start a new thread as a continuance of this one and leave this open so anybody can pay tribute to Dan
It does not seem right to have a few posts refering to the passing away of Dan Crawford the thread origionator and then to just simply carry on as if it never happened.
OR if this thread has to remain as it is can someone create a link close to the posts that announce his passing away to pay tribute
Kevin

RE: My new Ziroli 98" P-51 build
That is very sad news indeed.
My condolances and all strength to his wife & family,
Although not totally unexpected I must say there's always this bit of hope he wins the battle, when reading his replies throughout this thread I always felt some saddnes and the un-importance of model airplanes in comparison with health.
Very sad, feel like I lost a friend, but I didn't even know the man, weird.
Don't know what to say really.
For you Dan, salute

I just ordered the ziroli 98' p-51 short kit. I have no plans yet, and this is my first ziroli plane. I have built many planes but they all had instructions. I guess these have no instructions. Anyway I sure could use all the help and advice I can get. Thanks

Hi Brian
TurnineLover(Dan) passed away a while back and we miss him, and since he started this thread, we have left it alone as is. Here are some other links to the Ziroli P51 build.

I can't believe it has been just over a year now.....I do hope Dans wife is coping at a time when people tend to be enjoying themselves, good luck Sue, and don't be sad, I'm a total stranger but still thought of Dan as Christmas approached.......difficult not to be sad but it does get easier with time.

When you purchase the plans, do they also include instructions? That is what I am looking for. Thanks !

Hi
I'm building the same plane and can not find out anywhere the angle the wings are from each other. like how much space is under the wing when one wing is laying down flat. If i glue them the way they are there is now angle or space underneath the wing. I assume this is wrong and according to pictures its wrong???
Can someone help me out?
Thanks in advance

Important: this is measured in relation to the wing chord. As the wing is tapered in thickness towards the tip, you have to take this into account when you lay one wing halve flat on your building table. (That wing halve will technically not be flat on the table, think about it...) If you need help with that, I can calculate the measurements for you, but you need to supply some input measurements, as I sold my project.
Let me know
