The airplane is ready for the maiden. But because of the new (now 5-month old) baby, I'm finding it hard to find time during the day to go to the field. I find myself rushing home after work to get the last 30 minutes of play time with the little one before her bedtime. Then dinner, then honey-do's. After all that, it's too late to get to the field. I asked for "a day at the field" for my birthday.

I have a 7 month old and a 4 year old. Difficult to make time for sure, but things will lighten up. I get out Saturday morning's and make a few flights if the weather and the situation permits. It helps me keep my sanity, which has been in question at times.

Hey gents, I am trying to figure out a servoless way to control the choke without making extra, unnecessary, holes in the chin cowling but haven't figured it out yet. Any ideas?

On my big P-40 with a DLE 55 I ran a pushrod forward along side the engine and out the front of the cowl. I push the rod in to choke...flip until the engine hits...pull the choke open and the engine starts on the next flip.

Hi bigtim
It was hand painted by myself. Three days of tedious concentration!!

I look forwardto seeing it when you finish. I bought a partially built kit a couple of yearsago and just haven't had the time to work on it. Too many other projects. Maybe this year. i am going to have to go back and rework the wings as the guy Igot it from didn't put in the flaps and I can't see not having them.

Wow!!!, thats HUGE writing Matt.
Yes, I think having flaps will at least slow the plane down when landing while keeping the revs up!!!
