Me109 on Ebay

RE: Me109 on Ebay
The take off was beautiful. It pulled harder to the left than I anticipated but she recovered and went down the center line. the lift off was effortless. Halfway through the flight the engine started sputtering and sounding rich. I had to trim a lot of aileron due to the warped flaps. Only flew for about 3 minutes due to the engine sputtering. Landed sweet!
Noticed the muffler was missing. Fell off in flight. Couldnt find it of course. So she is hanging up in the garage now that I am away on business again. I was pleased with the flight characteristics. It was responsive yet smooth. And it looked good in the air.

I bought a set of retracts for the KMP 109 here on RCu and installed them. I added a set of robart robo struts, had to extend them somewhat so they would fit in the wheel wells. They seem to work pretty well so far (1 flight lol )

Hey Rich,
This is an old thread, do you still have your 109? Mine is in the garage tried to take off in a stiff crosswind , didnt get off the ground but it damaged the wings and the gear mounts when she ran off the runway. I havent seen this plane advertised anywhere since back then.

Alan I still have mine . I did change my rear struts to functional alum struts and added a ply stiffner in the fush. I was getting a fish tail whie flying. The new struts stoped that, I haven't done much flying this summer. kinda burned out. Rich

Rich, I know what you mean about burn out. it hit me last summer. I havent touched my 109 since the take off incident, I have it on my list of things to do. I have to repair the wing where it meets the fuse and then fix the front end, got cracked up a bit. I want to use better retracts this time. I have a set of the larger Spring airs with thicker struts. My tail supports long blew off, that was a good idea to put something with more support. I will look into that.
Castor Troy, that would be the 50 dollar question., havent been able to locate one of these since 2007. It is a pretty good plane especially for the cost. It is a little larger than the cmp 109 that is on another thread here. It is 78 inches and it is an E model.

Still have her flying, repainted again and using Spring Air retracts with Robart struts. Handles well. I used aluminum struts for the stab support after hearing that one of these went down after the tail failed. Had a dead stick today at the field and had to belly her in the rough field. Minor damage, she'll be back up in no time. Would love to find another one of these but have had no luck, searched internet and ebay.

Rich, let me know i you intend to sell your 109, put me on the list. I just love the way it flies. This summer has been incredibly hot for me, must be the altitude and age related.
