Default P51B Aileron servos

Getting rid of the bellcranks and going with seperate servos is a good upgrade on this plane and it can be done fairly easily. Double the rib closest to the inside edge of the aileron with aircraft plywood and cut a square hole in the doubler and the existing rib to mount the servo laying on it's side just like the flap servos. Remember on the ailerons that the servos have to lay in opposite direction so you get opposite rotation. The flap servos are mounted in the same direction because they rotate in the same direction as both flaps are always moving in the same direction. I have three of the Top Flight P-51s and I have done this conversion on all of them. You will have much crisper aileron control with the two servos and nice short direct pushrods. Make sure you run your wires while the wing is open. Good Luck!
