I put on a pair of shows at a local campground: many appreciative vets there, and the shows were so well recieved that campgrong management is asking me to do it again later this summer. They are offering free campites to pilots and families (normally $25/ nite with hookups).

There were about 100 spectators lined up along where my daughter was taking these pictures.

I want to thank Don Myer for all his help for the Sat. morning show: he's really good at working the croud, and be brought along a Corsair and an AT-6 to help with the show. They crowd really liked the last act: Don and my Corsairs flying together.

Special thanks to Mike Guernsey also: he brought a group of friends to help out for the Sunday evening show.

My daughter took these pics, which only show me and my pit crew/ AKA better half, and my 4 warbirds:

Chad those are awesome pictures of the P-40 in flight. Is that a sliding Canopy? If so that is something that I want to do on my Corsair, but have not been brave enough to try on any plane yet!!
That is a great looking plane!!!

Thanks skillet92 for the kind words. My buddy Joe takes some great pics and I'll pass along your compliments. The P-40 was just a sport scale model, no sliding canopy. Unfortunately the R/C gods were not kind yesterday and my P-40 is now just a memory. Oh well, on to the next one!

Nice flying G-Pete. What field is that? Nice runway for warbirds.

Serves me right, I did fly my FW190 and got shot up by a P47 so had to belly land it as one of my gear would not lock down completely.

That time of year again. Among the other usual Memorial Day activities, I plan on flying my TF P-47, man I really love that plane!!
I'll also be flying a couple of Axis foamies (FW-190 D-9, ME 109-G10).

Flying a Meister ' 47 this weekend. Became a member of the 8th AF Historical Society and wnt to a luncheon with several '17 and '24 pilots and crew. 200 missions were sitting with me having lunch. It was heaven. Thinking of them when I fly my '17.Got an earful when I told them the '24 was the box the '17 came in. Love this s**t...............Doug Smith

Another year gone by! I will be flying my BHM T-28 and Modeltech P-47 again this weekend at our small club's Warbird Weekend. It's informal, we just come and fly to honor our armed services and those who gave their lives or were wounded to protect our country. Today the weather is pretty iffy, cloudy, grey, spotty rain, low 50's F, but light wind and it ain't pouring yet! Hoping to get some flights in today...tomorrow looks better. Jon

We had a beautiful Memorial Day morning here in the Phoenix, Az. area and I was able to get two more really great flights on my T-6 Texan.

A BIG thank you to all our vets and, on this Memorial Day 2011, I don't even have words for those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus expressed it better than I ever could when he said "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." May we never forget the great cost of freedom.

I flew this Wing Mfg. B25. It's dressed in Doolittle's garb and I flew it in memory of Col. Bill Bower who left us just recently. Sunday was the nicest day yet this year at Chatfield. It was an honor to remember the sacrifices made by those who so loved this country.
