Being that you already have it fiished I would suggest using pin striping tape. You can also use a permanent marker and clear coat it after to prevent the lines from coming off. Looks good the way it is if you ask me.

D7, i think it would look better with some details added.
Since the paint is already applied, drawing the panel lines would be my choice. There are special "markers" made for this type of covering material (at the LHS)
you can also add some short alum. tubing in the leading edge of the wings to make guns...
get some pics of the real thing to get inpired, you don't have to go overboard with this, but some well chosen details make a big difference!

Hello, You did a nice job with the plane. I did mine with a silver gelcoat roller pen. To me, it sure adds alot to see the lines and rivets.I did my GSP 71in plane in about three evenings with the pen and then used Lustercoat flat clear to fullproof.I added all lines and rivets.If I knew how to post a picture I would share.If you would like I could send a picture the old fashioned way.E-Mial if you are [email protected] Take Care, Capt Winters

Looks good but it will look great with some detail. Doesn't need much, someinked lines, a dummy radial, a pilot and you've gotta have GUNS. Real easy stuff but really helps the look. I covered mine in silver monocote then painted with 21st century olive drab and gray, then drew lines. Then I scratched off some paint and let time and wear and tear do it's magic and it looks like it's been to war.
BTW- You should fly it first. get used to it, have some fun and then get down to detailing.

Panel lines rivets
You can draw out your panel lines and then use a engineer scribe tool to make the panel lines This will dent the covering. Use india ink to accent the lines. You can do rivet detail with a sewing wheel. Remove spokes to achieve the scale. The more spokes removed the more space between rivets. This will dent the surface, but not break the surface.
The P-47 have flush revets not raised, so this works great. I did a Bearcat and everyone wanted to know how I did it. You can get the sewing wheel at any fabric shop. Woman probably have another name for the wheel. but its has a metal spoked wheel with awood handle.

P-47 and panel lines
To make the panel lines I used a Sharpie. I cut a plastic file divider to make the access cover shape. To give it the age look clear coated with Simi gloss finish. Today was the first flight. WOW take off roll was very short about 20 ft. Top Flite Giant Flew very well with a Fox 3.2 at ½ throttle. Landing was just as nice landing on the mains and rolling out until the tail set down. This is one nice flyer. Thanks for all the inputs on the panel lines. I will try to get some close up of the line the next time I take it out.FokkerD7
