Question Top flight f4u giant corsair arf

Ok here goes
I Bought a top flight corsair arf from a friend.
I was looking over the threads on the plane and they are very helpful and
filled with great info.
I have one question so far that I really didn't see covered or maybe I missed.
My question is where can I make a hatch for four switches I will be running
made by Electro Dynamics for easy access while plane is together?
I will be running two receiver batteries one electric retract battery and ignition battery.
All going to be 2100mah life 6.6 volt.
I fly turbines and run two separate batteries for receiver through a smart fly.

This is my first model with electric retracts so I want to run a separate battery for them as well and of course
one for ignition.

Any input would be appreciated.
Thank You

Sure you can add a hatch. There is plenty of room in the front behind the firewall for you stuff.
As to how well the hatch looks will depend on your skills.
I contemplated a hatch but decided against it to keep things simple.

I run a JR voltage reg on one LiPo pack for the Rx and then one pack for ignition. I use air retracts. So for the switches I use the Mpi charging switches on the left side low above the wing. Front for ignition rear for Rx and the polarity matches with ground to the rear. This is how I check voltage and charge with the wing on.
To make a hatch on this plane I'd say you could cut in front of the canopy windshield where the real fuse fuel tank would be. This way you have access from within the fuse to build the hatch before you cut it free of the fuse. The build has a lot of stringers for construction so you have to stabilize the section of the fuse before you cut it.
Do you have razor saws like from Zona or Xacto? I like these the best for cutting hatches because you get very clean narrow cuts.
