Great. And now what? The Skyshark is too small however 1/6 or 1/7th or so. Me 109 spinners are out.

All the time that we have saved by building an ARF is now to be spent in engineering composite molds for spinners. Or CNC programs.

Suggestion: Instead of mauling over the inaccuracy of the design lines we should ask an expert how to make a custom and scale spinner for the community.

... just my 2 cents.

ALL KMP FW-190A owners and future owners...
I have a lead for making scale spinners...
If someone has a plug or mock-up of one in the correct scale profile, size etc... then I can work with you on getting them produced....
They would probably be approx $50-$60 for the scale aluminum spinners depending on volume..

IF you all are interested and want to contribute to this endeavor let me know and let's proceed!!!!

CHEERS!

Ahhh Tomas, finally. Yes, I would buy at least one spinner for the Me 109 and with high possibility one for this FW 190 once there are enough kits available for immediate delivery.

Awesome! But why do you have the tanks listed under "Aircraft"?

Regardless, let us know about the spinners.

Thanks

Luxuswaffe, et al,,,,,

I need someone to make a plug of a scale spinner for the KMP FW-190A so I can send it to the manufacturer here in the USA....

If someone would like to do this let me know...

...ahhh yes... and the reason I listed the TAMIYA TANKS with the AIRCRAFT was to get more exposure... MORE MODELERS are likely to stumble across them and look/browse them there than if they were listed on a different page....

BTW... CHECK THIS OUT!!!

Are you guys trying to tell us that not only did KMP not get the fuse correct, but they didn't supply or arrange a source for a scale spinner?

What are they thinking??!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

Tomas --
I have a scale spinner for the Platt 190 . The Platt 190 is larger, but if you think that'll work I'll be glad to send it to you so you can make a plug from it. But I do want it back! LOL
Send me a PM if you're interested.

Its been a while, I really don't remember which site I found it on. There are a number of freeware sites for animated gifs where you can download them. You will probably have to re-size it, but there are some sites where you can do that for free also. I typically use this one: http://www.gifworks.com/

Sorry if I was to spend $600, it wouldn't be for a poorly designed, half hearted attempt at a Fw190 whose resellers need to make excuses about why it wasn't designed better...

P.T Barnum was right! (for those that can't figure out what this means: http://thinkexist.com/quotes/p.t._barnum) see the first quote.

or maybe it was Thomas Tusser that said it better...

LETS all PLEASE REFRAIN from anymore negative vibes..... WE appreciate your great eye for scale fidelity and knowledge of the FW-190 as well as your great critique of it all... WE really do....
Improvements are always needed or beneficial in any market or product.... WE all know...
Please.... You have thoroughly voiced your concerns.. We all understand them.... yes they missed the scale outline.... we all know... OK...
NOW THIS THREAD is for the assembly and enjoyment of the KMP FW-190 ARF FOR WHAT IT IS....
FOR ALL WHO WISH TO CONTINUE to BE NEGATIVE and wish to continue a debate on manufacturing and scaleness and critique the model to near mortality.....Please go ahead and contribute all you want in another thread about its inaccuracies as there are 2 other threads already devoted to negative posts about the scaleness of this ARF.... Most of us wish to try to enjoy this model for what it is and don't need anyone raining on our happiness....

THANKS for your kind consideration.... Lets all be KIND and be GENTLEMEN....
... CHEERS....

Unless the manufacturer claims to be 100% Scale, we as modelers should not take them to task for not being so. There are many reasons a manufacturer may choose not to follow exact scale lines. They include, but are not limited to:
[ul][*] cost/ease of development/manufacture[*] copyright[*] Improved flight characteristics over the original design or caused by "scaling down"[*] ease of assembly
[/ul]
While a plane such as this may never make it to the "Scale Masters", wanting to make it "more scale" by changing spinners/props/wheels etc., by various "weathering" techniques are all good, and this thread is a healthy place to do that.

Please, let's keep it that way.

Thank you.

1.) cost/ease of development/manufacture: It would have cost no more, nor been any more difficult to develop or manufacture had the manufacturer used accurate 3 views which are readily available for the Fw190, up to and including actual factory blueprints.

2.) copyright: the Fw190 is under no such regulations. Since the manufactures are typically from China, Vietnam and other countries which do not recognize american copyright laws for the most part, its doesn't jive.

3.) Improved flight characteristics over the original design or caused by "scaling down": doubtful. Reducing the fuse area near the tail is actually going to be more of an issue due to the forces caused by flight on said tail surfaces.

4.) ease of assembly: see number 1.

It may be a 3/4 weeks before I can get mine started. Got other projects I'm doing for other people to get done first. Then I'll get on it hard. Proly go with a OS 160 2 cycle for power. Would like to see some ideas about how to make the tailwheel more scale. The inst. show the old music wire bent into the rudder. Also got to get the retracts from KMP that weren't in the box, so when I get them I'll get some pics.

Actually Segre, I have a wonderful life, and I'm only negative when a company out right lies to me, much like KMP did.

Of course, this being RC Universe, saying that only gets me in trouble as RC Universe is too concerned about making the bucks (which is why we don't see many, if any, negative product reviews) than it is making the hobby better for all of us.

I have a huge amount of fun and enjoyed flying a wonderful BUSA Fokker D.VII this past weekend and putting the finishing touches on a number of planes in my collection.

But that doesn't mean I'm going to comment on a plane billed as "The aircraft is painted in the scheme of Jagdgeschwader 1 (JG 1) Oesau which saw significant combat over France and the Netherlands, as flown by Feldwebel Alfred Bindseil", yet looks next to nothing like the plane it was supposed to look other than in its colours.

Just because people don't like the comments I make, doesn't make them any less accurate.

Hey Evil, I don't think he meant that your life isn't wonderfull, just that you waste so much of your wonderfull life here saying the same thing over and over. Lets face the facts, This is a COOL airplane, and nowhere on the box does it say "scale masters series". You 've got to be the only guy on the planet that is sweating the details of this awesome "ARF" so strongly. I must admit though, you do keep this thread comical. God I love this guy !
