Default Sis-T Focke Wolf 190 A Opinions??

HI Guys, Does anyone have any experience with the Sis-T all moulded 1/5 scale Focke Wolfe 190 kit?, I am looking to build a warbird over the winter and really liked the detailing of the Sis-t model being imported by DJ -Aerotec. Any pro's or con's appreciated, Thanks Jack.

There is NO better FW 190 A out there today. Yeah you could build a Platt, Smith, Valley or Devine FW 190 and scale it to your hearts content, but the Sis-T has it all already

There are a few build threads over at RC Scale Builder.

The only issues I could speak of are the fact that some of the rivits are just too visible, the FW 190 was quite clean when it was out there. Stephan (the owner of Sis-T) is also quite visible on RC Scalebuilder and is always quite helpful.

If Stephan is coming out with the 1/4 scale FW190, you might want to check what the price is going to be.
He is not going to be able to sell as many as the 1/5 scale so I would guess the cost will
be much higher. I also know he is trying to use a more scale and therfore more costly
set or retracts. I for one can't think of any Retract Manufacturer in Europe that I would want to trust my
$3500.00 plane and $3500.00 (Moki Radial) motor with.

We will see soon enough I guess.

If i had deep enough pockets, i would get one of these in a flash.

I agree wholeheartedly, having seen a few build threads, there is no better Fw-190 on the market!

thanks

I'm sure there will not be a problem with retracts and the weight of engine/components.
Airworld has a fantastic kit also and it works fine with a Moki. You should contact Dino http://www.aero-accessories.com/
Im sure he can answer any Qs.

The Aeroworld kit may not be the most scale in the world, but a good kit it is, and Dino placed very well with it in Top Gun as it is.

Not to mention Dino is one hell of a guy.

The SiS-t kit is more scale, but it's an A8. The Airworld kit is an A2/A3. Don't forget the Sis-T kit is 1/5th scale, the Airworld kit 1/4th...

Thanks for all the replies, I have been viewing the build threads on RC Scale builder.com , the web site is very ,very slow it takes forever to load, and navigate. The Kit is beautiful, does anyone know the wait time on the kit, and how much the shipping runs? Also who is the best to deal with in the U.S. for a kit. Thanks again , JAck.

slow?

wait time depends on who has it. if you contact Joe at DJ Aerotec, or Jose at fliteskin
ask if they have them. if they do, shipping will be quicker. both show the prices on their
sites. shipping isnt alot, I believe mine where around 140? if they dont have them, then
the time frame is whenever Stephan gets them shipped from Germany after his next
batch of them

Dino flew the Airworld in pro-am. That means it is not judged for scale. The Airworld is far too poor in scale accuracy to compete in any serious scale competition. It does however look good and is without a doubt a really easy flier. I also flew in Pro-Am this year, I went with my flying buddy. I flew my 1/4 Mustang, guess what he flew? Yes! an Airworld FW190. Unfortunately we have never gotten them into the air together yet due to engine problems starting the week before TG. The Sist 190 is a true Gem and from what I hear is a great flier too. If I wanted a 190 that would definitely be my route. The 1/4 scale is tempting but scalewings LA7 will be out at the same time about and will take the same radial so I think I will plunk for that.
Good Luck
Paul

Toad,

RSB is faster than it use to be, but it still takes more time than I would like for a Forum.

And I don't think Michigan has anything to do with it.

The SisT is a fantastic first rate kit. My A8 flies great and has great ground handling. D9 is currently on the workbench. Easy to put together and VERY scale.

Thanks Jack. I used PPG base coats for the 3 standard RLM camo colors. All the markings were done with Testors model master acryl. Clear coat is PPG flex n flat clear. Powerplant is a G62 on C&H ignition. Check my webpage for more pics:
