VQ Bf 109 spinner?

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
Scott,
Check www.vqwarbirds.com The kits they are selling are supposed to come with a scale 3 blade spinner. I'm sure they have some to sell. They also offer an aluminum 3 blader as well, I think for around $25.

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
Is it a scale spinner? I want one with the stub nose not pointed. I also saw the kits from VQ come with the spinner but mine does not? Oh man.

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
YES... ALL VQ MODELS LISTED on our website are INSTOCK and ready for immediate shipping! We also have the KMP TIGERCAT, ME-109E, STUKA, and TYPHOON instock... We are out of KMP Spitfires, and Hurricanes...
http://vqwarbirds.com/aircraft.html
Click here to see what it looks like... We include 1 free plastic 3 Blade Spinner with our ME-109E... It is the same shape as this aluminum spinner and it looks better than the P-51 Styled spinners...
http://vqwarbirds.com/products/access/alspinner.html
It will work and be better than a parabolic type spinner..
Cheers...

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
The spinner you are showing is not a scale spinner for the ME-109E which the VQ is a rough representation of. Having said that, there was one version of the ME-109E that did not have the "Blunt" nose spinner.
Since this aircraft is a very, very, sport scale rendition of the ME-109, I don't see why it would be a necessity to insist on a true scale spinner.

PPL want scale spinners to make their planes look more scale.
The only pointy spinner used on this type of plane was not an ME-109 at all, but instead the Hispano 1112 buchon(spanish built bf-109's with spitfire like exhaust stacks with cooresponding cowl bulges and also no side air instake scoop)

The only scale ME-109E spinner is the one from KMP, but it is way way too big for even a 60 size ME-109.
Thomas, is there any way you might get one of your contacts from wherever to make a scale spinner the correct size( 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 in diameter ) ?. You'd easily sell a ton since the VQ plane would benefit as well as fit Kyosho Me-109s.

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
Again... WE do NOT CLAIM to have a SCALE .40 Size ME-109E.. It is sport scale... therefore the spinner we offer is sport and squint from 100 ft away type scale model...
So therefore we do not say to offer a scale spinner..
I am a stocking dealer not a manufacturer... I too appreciate scale fidelity .. but understand that sport scale arfs are just that.. sport scale arfs...
Thank you all for your kind comments.. I now turn the thread back to the originator...
Cheers.,..

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
I may have an answer for 40 size ME-109's since the distributors cant seem to help.
Hobby-lobby carries a series of glow aluminum spinners.....Kavan is the brand. The end of them, however, are rubber and are removed to get to the prop nut/washer. Well, this might work just fine without ever putting the rubber tip on them to get the "scale" look or close to it.

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
The answer is simple. I want a blunt nose spinner. Thats all. I understand that this is NOT a scale warbird. I think it would be really cool to have a spinner that looked like that. Just thought I would ask.

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
BIGTIM. Go to Bob Holman plans and look under Brian or Dennis's plans. They have a .60 109 E. You can buy the scale spinner for $90. It comes with some other parts too. You maybe able to get just the spinner from him.

thanks for the lead 90$ thats about TT prices double DB, if you find someone who is willing to spin one up please post it, I would be interested to see if Dave Brown could do something for a resonable price there spinners are a little thin,I have a parabolic, and it is ok, but they also do custom work.

I also e-mailed him and got the same answer, bummer I wish the skyshark spinner was a tiny bit smaller it looks pretty good I am going to try Dave brown tomorrow see if they have any ideas.
I sent a email to DBproducts so if I get a answer I will post it as soon as I hear something,if there's enough interest there might be a reason to produce something for a resonable price.

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
and the answer;
Specialty airplanes present a real problem in obtaining spinners, as
the Qty simply would not support the cost of development, and
tooling, and I am afraid the ME109E falls into this category.
While we plan to expand the types of spinners we make (I suspect a
P-38 shape is next), I cannot envision us making a spinner for the
ME109E, unless a kit mfgr places a significant order for inclusion
with a kit.

RE: VQ Bf 109 spinner?
Those are artist renditions, not pics of real planes. Feel free to post pics of a real ME-109E that had a pointed spinner. The next model, the "F", had a round spinner nose, but the intake scoop on the side of the plane was also circular and not the slat louvered design of the "E". Those drawings show an "E" version, but the spinner is wrong.
