Default Top Flite Corsair Red Box

Hi,I bought a Top Flite Corsair in red box, the kit is complete. I have a question about the flyer feature, the new Top Flite Gold Edition has a revised version because the last one is not a well plane, the question is the red box will fly well?

Regards

The Red Box Corsair is a good flier. Keep it light and keep the c/g forward. Use plenty of power. Ignore the flap system --- use two servos instead.

I kept mine light by using a lighter, more compact engine: Saito .82. Fits in the cowl and has enough power for scale flying, even with a 3 blade 13 x 8.
As for CG: I don't recommend moving it forward, as it will cause it to nose over more easily, which in turn leads to breaking the rudder.
DEFINATELY add retracts and flaps: it flies better with both and looks better.

I didn't mean to move the c/g forward of the recommended range ---just don't let it get aft. As for the nose-over problem a little tweaking of the landing gear angle solves that.

I got a Gold Edition in the box. Bought it new back when they were new. And that was more than a few years ago. Got an aluminum cowl for example. You don't see that on new kits, do you?

What's the difference? Never saw a red box.

Uh oh............. I just remembered, my kit is a Royal.

Aluminum cowls NEVER came with Top Flite Corsair kits. They DID come with Royal/ Marutaka kits

Thanks, I have some Corsairs, I have in box Corsair from Pica, Great Planes, 2 Top Flite Gold Edition and Top Flite in red box, I love this plane.
I'd like to build it with retract (mechanicals from Hangar 9) and operative flaps, I will try to build with interior cockpit too. The kit is fine but a little bit dry.
I have a O.S. 91 Surpass for this plane, I hope will be fine.

Regards
