Thanks, F82Fan, and I hope its just a temporary lapse in judgement on their part, I've been collecting pieces for the 190 for a while!

Surprise is a bit of a drive from where I fly, but if you are coming to Phx, here is the club I fly at: http://www.azmodelaviators.com/
Its in Mesa,at the extreme east end, just this side of Apache Junction. Do you know the dates? You bringing anything to fly? PM me and I can give you my email, etc.

Well finally flew this weapon! 9.7 kg with a saito fg 33 up front. 899 g of lead in the nose...cog set at 139mm. It flew like it was on rails!! Great landing at half flaps..only problem was runway was boggy this time of year and she dug in a bit and ripped up a few divots. All in all a great plane.

    Hi Miketahin

    Congrats for the maiden!

are you sure about the weigt of the model? 9,7kg is about 20lbs..even if you have the composite wing version this seems to be a bit much?

Another thing: why on earth do you need lead on the nose with FG33? Did you mount servos in tail or something?

Anyways if it flies well: that's what counts!

I had one that I bashed with lots of scale details plus a full cockpit and pilot. It weighed in at 19.5 lbs. Once airborn it flew pretty well but landing was a bear. I had the CG forward at 135mm but when slow it was real pitchy and sensitive. Real white knuckler coming in on approach.
    Flying:
    ESM FW-190 D9 Bash
    Bendix Special
    MilPoke - Self designed Frankenplane

    I wanna list: Fliteskin TA-152C, Holman D9

Yep aero Finn she needed every little bit of the 850 g in the nose! ...unfortunately, but, It flew well. But I mounted two lipos under the gun hood and the r33 does weight less than a dle 33. They are a heavy girl. I may be able to lower the nose weight as I get more familiar with the plane so I might b able to bring it back but...that's where it seems to b happy. Does any one else have a story on the weight? I reckon I'm in the mark...the cog seemed perfect at 135 dowmer, it's where most people on this forum had theirs set. I didn't add anything crazy to the plane, it just seemed to b where the weight ended up.

They came and retracts and the legs that will be placed. Retracts i chose an economical solution but first impressions and tests conducted on the bench, got very positive feedback! Of course before buying i contacted with a person-who had placed them and said good words. The retracts are from hobbyking and are for 15 kgr model, imagine that they have so much power that with 6volt nimh battery I could not stop by hand. The retracts are http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._6mm_pin_.html
and the legs i will be place is from lado. They made them in the measurement i wanted and because they have 10 degrees tilt the shaft mounted the wheel with 80 degrees of retracts and so i have a very scale result !!!

Until now i haven't any problem with retracts, not airborne yet. But i concerned about the cheap electronics on them. I 'm not worry about if they can handle the weight of the plane, because are very strong and lock positive up and down only for the electronics i'm worried about! I think i will changed them with lado retracts before ending my project!

Because I intend to use 2 heavy duty switches which are very big did not like the idea to appear on the model, it will spoil the model. So we decided with my

What weight did you end up at?

Don't sweat the maiden too much, these models fly well even at quite high weights. I have had a couple and have another NIB waiting for bench space!

Hi Terry the total weight of my plane is 8 Kgr. = 17.64 lb? With Zenoah G38 on front and 2 6volt NiMh batteries beside the fuel tank and up against the back of the fire wall did not add ANY weight at all and it balanced at 134mm back! Some minor details with the retracts and the wires and she's ready for the maiden! I can't wait any longer for the maiden because due to family and work commitments stayed behind in the project!

Hi irocbsa a I would love to hear about your maiden. I have flown mine now a few times now with all that weight an I'm sure I have way to much in the nose. It flew very nose heavy. I was adding so much weight to gain only mm in cg forward. I believe I could have removed almost 1 kg in weight and it still would have flow ok. I have retired the fw for a while. I had a hard landing and ripped the gear out. I firmly believe I had it far over weight. I tried to get it too close to 130 ish when I'm sure this thing will fle at 145-150mm cog. I have the composite model. I was adding 50g per mm to move the cOg forward.

Mine flew a 17 lbs, great flying airplane, I balanced it per manual, and would say to balance it slightly fwd of that for the first couple flights. Mine trimmed out with elevator in a nose down position, it flew and landed fine, dropped the nose in a stall, it just wanted the nose down trim
