Silver solder the wheel retainers and the wheel axle. Or they will come off with this much weight

Just got off the phone with Horizon support. It appears you cannot get spare parts to repair eflight retracts. These things are too expensive to deal with that so back to robarts for me. Turns out, I'm not the only one with a broken trunion. Too bad, I like the idea of electric retracts, but not if they are weak and no replacement parts. At least robart sells repair parts.

You can do what I did. Get the Robarts made for this airplane and have them converted to electric by Down and Locked. A bit pricy but well worth it in the long run.

I'm gonna stick with air. It works fine for me. The price keeps me away from that upgrade.

Hello Everyone...

Just purchased a H9 B-25 and I am looking forward to giving it some great mods from his thread. I am already looking to put a detailed cockpit and guns on it. It already has Robart retracts and upgraded engines. Should be a lot of fun.

Where is the best place to learn how to add panel lines and rivets?

You putting the panel lines on the mylar covering, or glassing? If directly on the ultracoat, horizon or tower sells a pen for that. Dont know how it holds up under glow fuel though. The plane flys good at 14lbs with saito .56's. It would be nice to hear of other weights and engine combo's to see how heavy you can actually go.

It is going directly on the ultracoat... I am looking to paint it with something that will dull the finish first though.

That ultracoat spray paint (dull clear) would do it. And is fuel proof. I would do the lines first then dull coat it. Should give a bit more protection.

I just purchased the Hanger 9 B-25 with the Robart retracts. Roughly, what did it cost you to have Down and Locked convert them to electric? Have they worked out okay for you?
Thanks for the help!

I just purchased an unfinished Hangar 9 B-25 from the London Rc swap meet this past week. I have read a number of threads and have looked at the 120 sized eflite retracts as I have a trike set in my Seagull Tucano. However I was on the Hobbyking site http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...trSearch=giant T-28

and came across a set of retracts for the giant T-28 Trojan that look identical to the Robarts trike set for the B-25. Could they be the same? interesting reading the comments on these retracts(sell for $165.00) that they experience leaking problems as well. If I knew the thread size on the air cylinder I would like to buy a electric option and convert them myself.

I have a servo question? Does anybody think st47's would be sufficient for the control surfaces. I have read through the entire post with very few people saying what they are using for servos. I know the manual suggests ds821 or st126mg, but I have alot of 47's laying around I would like to use up.

This plane is a little large to be flown on 4.8 volts. The ST47 is only rated for 4.8 volts. Not saying you can't do it...but I think 6 volts is the prudent choice.

Tevan, I should mention I am using an electric setup with e-flite 60 amp esc's. To me it looks like I cant do 6 volts.

Dimension Engineering has a nice 6 volt BEC. I'm not an electric flyer but I think you may want to consider more power to your servos for this plane. They also have some really nice (bright) lights you can install for landing lights. Good Luck...hope this helps.

Here is some custom making parts I did ...

The NEW working office flight deck of the Mitchell ...

Top canopy top tinted green window

Side front fuse 50.cal barrels guns inplant in covers.
Will be using only one 50. cal machine gun by side.

On the side tail gunners interior windows,
I have inplant a lite rubber net grill that will cover the hole gunners windows.
Looks very nice and replicate the real curtains net grill they have in there ...

That rubber curtains net grill will hide the green fuse behind the windows now
we will see partially the fuse behind and that is what I wanted as result in there ...

The tail gunner area is done and complet & 50. cal guns are removable.

That greehouse as change a little since that pics was take.
I will also change my canopy windows for a new canopy as
my is crack. I got the new one with out a crack and will inplant later on.

Will rebuild the windows with the alumi anti-ammo plate reproduction.
on a fiew greenhouse windows like I did on my old one that will be remove.
I also did inplant a removable 50.cal machine gun in the nose of the greenhouse.

The turret

Excellent work. Looks like you've had a long winter, with no time to fly.

I had those sheet plate alumi since a while and if I remember right I got them at a closing hobby store that
had train stuff. It was sold with all those sheet plates that you make house roof in the train hobby side.

You mite still find some in those train hobby stores in your area YYZ.

Hope this answer did help you & thanks for your positive comments towards my Mitchell working office build ...

Thanks A1Tango!
I will look into it. We have a company up here called model builders supply that have an online catalogue for Architectural model builders and I believe they might have this www.modelbuilderssupply.com . I will check. FYI I have purchased some upgrade parts from Nitroplanes for their 80 inch foam B-25. They have some nice injection molded parts (ie cowls and upper turre) which I have attached some pics. Their canopies are a bit smaller than the Hangar 9 so they cannot be used.

They mite still be around ...

Nice mold for the ENG cowls and turret ,,, there is always a way to acheive our Mitchell
the way we want it to be.

For my part I have done some start work on the ENG cowls with a radial. It turn
out pretty good as scale look, and still alote of work to do befort it will be inpant in those cowls.
Alote of configuration to go true ,, but I got all i need to make it fit well and scale fine ,,, lol

My work on the cowls,

I made out a rubber tube in each out take
going around the cowls. There is 10 of them for each cowls.

You probably meen the black spongy material serunding floor and side in the greenhouse.
That one you can find at the dollar store. Look for a roll called (Grip eze) for Shelf & Drawer ...
